There's also the fact that the show established Kuvira to be a really strong fighter in the first episode. Kuvira wasn't a pushover.

2023-10-05 03:39:34 +0000 UTCIt's all mental now. Korra got the poison out, and has been healed physically, but mentally she is still suffering from PTSD. Not to mention she is very rusty, and has hardly fought in 3 years. You can see the loss of muscle mass in her character design. This is precisely why Kuvira baited her into a fight. "I know you are a little rusty". Until she gets her mental state resolved it's going to be hard for her. However if this was Korra before she fought Zaheer this match would not have lasted long. Korra would have destroyed her.
