2023-09-25 23:27:42 +0000 UTCI think you are mostly correct. The film is anime canon and the mangaka released some side stories for the manga that serve as promotional material. While the film isn't an adaptation of existing manga chapters, from my understanding, Tabata was heavily involved with the story and gave the final product his blessing. Honestly though, at the end of the day, I don't think labels like manga canon, anime canon, filler, or some combination of the three should be used to determine the worth of media. Just to be clear, I'm not accusing you of thinking the movie is only good because it isn't filler. I just think it's worth mentioning that labels can, sadly, impact expectations. Media should be judged by other factors, at least in my opinion. Anyways, the Black Clover movie is great no matter how we label it, and I think they'll love watching it. :)

The movie is confirmed canon by Tabata himself and takes place during the six month Time Skip before the Spade Kingdom War arc and is about the previous Wizard King before Julius his name is Conrad. Tabata even created a manga volume about the movie to tie it into the story. I hope you guys see this!

2023-09-25 20:49:05 +0000 UTC(This is spoiler-free, so this is my guess on some stuff that happened in these past two episodes. So please don't confirm it if you read the manga.) Awesome reaction! Just a reminder, each of the Dark Triads seems to have two magic abilities: their innate ability and the devil's ability. We know so far that Dante has Body/Gravity, and Vanica has Blood/Curse. This leaves Zenon, who has Bone magic and maybe Spatial magic? Around the end of episode 167, it seems like he uses some sort of Spatial magic, which makes sense if he could negate Finral magic. This brings up another question: does Asta have an innate magic ability that isn't anti-magic since that is the devil's ability, or does he really have no magic? It would be interesting to see how that works with his anti-magic.
