2023-09-29 22:50:02 +0000 UTCYou know what kills me everytime in Jinoras ceremony? Like Tenzin Said she is the first master in her generation. Tenzin was the last Airbender to get his tattoos and in his ceremony there was only Aang who could do the incense bending and Bells. It must have been proud but somber and lonely moment. And in contrast with the reformed Airnation now. Its a community again and a full Ceremony. Also Jinora looks bald so much like Aang.

2023-09-27 12:50:06 +0000 UTCyup. Korra was a young hopeful if a bit naive Character who loved being the Avatar. Who Couldnt wait to go out and do her Job. The Creators set her up. Then cracked their knuckles and broke her down. Season by season she is confronted with a rapidly changing world with Decisions that are so not Black and white. In Avatar the last airbender It was all a bit more Straight forward. In Korra there is a lot more Political maneuvering. Plus Technology is Advancing and making her Job harder as Bending becomes Challenged. And now by the end of S3 we see a literally broken avatar. Who cant walk or dress herself. Who by her own has given up being the Bridge of Spirit and Material world. She has lost the Avatars of the Past and still blames herself. And now the Airnation will do the job she has left and she feels not needed anymore (as seen in her visions from the poison) Remember The title of the episode was the Venom of the Red Lotus. Not poison. Because imo the Venom is figuratively what they did to her Spirit and worth of selfworth. Rewatching this show with you has made me realize again how good this show truly is. Cant wait for the movies.

2023-09-26 09:36:09 +0000 UTCAMAZING REACTIONS its like I'm watching this for the first time with you guys. There was just too much to appreciate with Korra, the fight scene was probably the best animation ever, it was like a superhero movie. Korra looked amazing in practically every shot. & That ending.. Korra is just such a headstrong, powerful character and seeing her at her weakest point. Her tearing up can be left to your interpretation, I've heard its because Jinora looks so much like Aang, but I think its because her whole identity has been just being the Avatar, she just heard that she is no longer needed. Next season is tumultuous, consequential, and honestly a little heartbreaking. I cant believe we're already here.

2023-09-25 15:09:31 +0000 UTCOh and Jinora! What a beautiful scene. She's been listening, learning, and utilizing her knowledge/skills over and over again to save her loved ones, she truly earned this. I also love that Kai is a part of it too because he was the first one to recognize her greatness and what she deserves. She was made for this and to have her ascent paralleled with korra's descent is oh so hurtful.

2023-09-25 14:00:33 +0000 UTCI think it's a bittersweet moment for Korra. She's happy for Jinora but it hurts her that the air nation now has to basically replace her because she's incapacitated. Who is Korra if not the all power avatar? Who is Korra in a world that doesn't need her?

2023-09-25 08:11:13 +0000 UTCMan, rewatching these really solidifies Korra as one of my favourite characters. I feel so much for her, and her developement from season 1 is heartbreaking. Fantastic season, the end really got me, glad you enjoyed it as well

2023-09-25 08:00:31 +0000 UTCI remember when this episode aired originally, and it left us with Korra shedding a tear. There was so much uproar and speculation over how season 4 would continue from there, how it couldn't possibly continue in a satisfying way, etc, etc. IMO, season 4 is just as good as season 3. I uphold the notion that each season did something better than each other: Season one had the best pacing and intrigue (minus those last few minutes) Season two had the best worldbuilding Season three had the best overall plot And season four has the best character writing I'm so excited to see how you guys react to season four. I concede that season three is the "best" season, but season 4 is my favorite, without a doubt.

2023-09-25 04:22:59 +0000 UTCjinora is azula's foil, prodigy grandkid of the avatar but instead of having awful parents (because Azula/Zuko's mom was garbage), having good parents instead.

2023-09-24 23:29:57 +0000 UTCSeason 4 is great as well, and has a lot of moments you will love, but has a few faults due to Nickelodeon. I still think S4 as a capstone for this series is fantastic.

2023-09-24 23:15:13 +0000 UTCOk your the real ones. Cause I know when I first saw this I also had that tearing up moment. I also had it during the fight scene with Zaheer and Korra but for the poor animators. That shit was INSANE! 3D Camera movement. The fluidity. Awesome. Also how they portrayed Korra being a beast and going into a Primal Rage. *chefsKiss*. The music was done by Jeremy Zuckermann, both for ATLA and Korra. He really went all out and made some of my favourite Score tracks in Movies and TV. As for Season 4 (non Spoiler) Background Info you have to know is: Nickelodeon gave them big budget cuts. which they had to deal with And they chose not to fire anyone from the team but had to cut some quality/Story in the last season. Just to keep in mind that Season4 was made with one arm tied behind their back.

2023-09-24 21:34:29 +0000 UTCJinora looks so much like her grandpa with her shaved head. And Raiko deserved a good punch in the mouth. He kicks her out of the city and now he’s all “welcome back” like nothing happened. And you can tell just how beaten down Korra is by the fact she didn’t bring that up.

2023-09-24 21:26:37 +0000 UTCYeah, that ceremony induces tear bending every time. I think what makes this season (and really the entire avatar universe) so amazing is the realistic depictions of trauma. Lin's healing of family trauma. Tenzins family finally getting to move through and past the generational trauma of genocide. And even though she "won", Korra is left with the immense trauma of almost dying and feeling defeated. All wrapped up in a "kids" show. Michael, Bryan, Aaron, and Chase have an incredible ability to tell very mature stories in a way that is accessible for youth. I fell in love with this universe since the first ATLA episode aired in 2005 when I was nine, and am so happy that almost 20 years later it's still getting love.

2023-09-24 20:41:08 +0000 UTCFor Book 1, Amon aimed to make everyone equal through the eradication of bending. He aimed to take away Korra’s bending. For Book 2, Unalaq aimed to destroy the Avatar Cycle and usher in a world of complete darkness. He destroyed the Avatar’s past lives. Book 3 had Zaheer aim for the total eradication of the Avatar, and leaving the world in total anarchy. He nearly succeeded. Korra’s antagonists have not just been about a world conqueror (Ozai) aiming to rule the world with an iron fist. All of them have been a threat towards her identity in some way, shape or form. An attempt to break her spirit, mind and body. It’s always been seen, but Korra always dreamed of being the Avatar, and was enthusiastic about it. But the world and those who aimed for the Avatar’s personal destruction, effectively eroded her spirit. Her being wheelchair bound and Tenzen saying what they’d do in service of the world INSTEAD of Korra is a way to show that the world doesn’t need an avatar (even if he didn’t mean it). She’s crippled, traumatized and with a mind clouded with PTSD, and now Airbenders have taken over the very thing she wanted to do in the first place; to uphold balance in the world. Her fears, in her mind, have come true since the beginning of Book 1.
