HUGE Korra drop coming very soon!

Prez Rokosz

Do you have an ETA on more Korra? You guys are just the best is all :)

Stephanie Hundley

So back when this was first released, the scene where korra was flying away and the part where focused on an island it is to believe that it's a lion turtle

If you also notice the pond where Wan initially stayed with the spirit is the same pond in Siege of the north episode where Aang saw the spirit of the moon and ocean

The creators had this story in their heads back in ATLA, but they didn’t have a good place to tell the story. The continuity benefits from them knowing their origin story in the beginning.

Great reactions, I knew you’d love them! I still really enjoy the rest of the season, and series, hope you do too!

"we are bonded forever" UGGHH FUCKING CHILLS also i love the call-backs to Avatar. When Roku said that avatar has done it before and mastered the elements in less than a year and Aang accessing Wan's strategy with the ball of elements.

Keep in mind the reason for the decline of lion-turtles and dragons (and probably more animals) is because of humans hunting them. This is why Airbenders are set as an example of how to live with spirits/animals, not saying that everyone in the universe should be vegetarian but they've proven with their lifestyles that they can live in peace together. its definitely a barrier since humans have became non-spiritual.

I think these episodes are so good because stylistically they're reminiscent of TLA

Possibly unpopular opinion but the humans had every right to fight spirits regardless of them being "good" or "bad". They were all bad because they were colonizers who took over earth and forced humans into reservations on the backs of lion turtles enforcing their rule over the rest of the planet. Their stance of "respecting nature" basically translated to "don't kill animals" but that makes no sense because animals kill each other for food all the time, that's part of nature, applying it only to humans while other animals in the wilds kill each other is hypocritical and racist. Humans as omnivores can survive without meat but that is harder in a medieval society than it is today and of course being contained to lion turtles didn't leave humans a lot of room for agriculture so how are they supposed to survive without hunting? Scarcity of food was even directly addressed by Wan. Of course it is easy for spirits who don't need to eat to moralize about how wrong it is to kill but again, this respect for life ends when it comes to humans, the spirits seem to attack them indiscriminately just because they can.

These episodes are absolutely fantastic, Wan is such a great character

The Avatar origin story is so dope. It’s cool to see that even the first avatar had to grapple with their mistakes

rougezapato

Fun fact: the field that Wan dies in is believed to be the same field we see Zuko go through in "Zuko Alone"
