Avatar Book 3 Episode 16

Comments

Yon Rha killed Kya what do you think he meant when he said "I'm afraid I'm not taking prisoners today" and the fire nation was wiping out the water benders from the southern water tribe?

Z King

I cant wait for yall to watch Korra

You can tell that Azula is starting to break at the beginning of this episode. Have we EVER seen her with that facial expression before?! XD at most she does little smirks not full on Joker moments. Also, note that Zuko has better control over his breathing. Even in the showdown in Book 2, he grunted when he did his firebending. He's finally learned what Iroh meant in the first episode of the show. Firebending comes from the breath, not the muscles.

Yeah we're dumb lmao

Prez Rokosz

This seems like a pretty good theory can't lie, makes this episode even better

Prez Rokosz

Man was terrified

Prez Rokosz

Great episode, I love Zuko's face every time Katara does some crazy waterbending. Like "she was able to do that?!?"

Jongoe

did not specify north or south just that they're a waterbender

Mustafa Amoudi

It is a theory but it makes sense👍

TheSolitaryX

its because the avatar cycle if aang was dead the next avatar was going to be in the southern water tribe which was mentioned once a long time ago i think in book 1 so they raided southern water tribe specifically. for 100 years. thinking aang was dead or died, also aang wouldnt have to try appa listens to only aang when nearby they wouldve said yep yep and appa woulve just layed their like umm no.

Phonic Reassignment

You should probably that this is only a theory. It's a very popular theory in the fandom, but still just a theory.

Shado

Fun fact, Katara's and Sokka's mom was voiced by Grey DeLisle, Azula's voice actress.

Phillip Grischa

It was full moon! You can see the moon when Zuko and Katara take off on appa. I do think you said it was a cool shot ✌🏻

Narendra

yea kataras mom got killed thats why the guy said they weren't taking prisoners

Yessss I've been waiting to post this for so long! So Hama ( Bloodbender from ep 8 ) was taken from the Southern water tribe 50 years before Katara's mom and turned out to be such a powerful Waterbender that she developed Bloodbending and broke her way out of a fire nation prison, likely killing many fire nation soldiers along the way. Up to that point, Waterbenders were ONLY take captive, but on the first raid on the Southern water tribe in half a century, with the context that a Waterbender from that tribe was able to brutally control people, they aren't taking prisoners and it's probably because they don't want another Hama. So basically the idea of Hama got Katara's mom killed.
