Fate Stay/Night: Unlimited Blade Works Episode 23, 24, 25

Comments

I'm gonna guess it's the difference in experience and how their Noble Phantasm works. Shirou has limited mana and can only blast other Servants with unlimited sword in his Reality Marble. Gilgamesh who has more experience as a Heroic Spirit and more mana while also just able to summon his weapons through gates can do it without limit.

i never understood the argument Shirou made here regarding how he would only be able to kill Gilgamesh because he didn't master a single weapon and he would not be able to beat any other servants because they did. when literally that's what Gilgamesh did which was just blast them with weapons until they died and Shirou is just another version of Gilgamesh so why can't he do the same? Literally, Gilgamesh slaughtered Heracles by blasting him with weapons. Shirou could do the same. The only reason why Gilgamesh had any trouble in that fight was because he was arrogant and cocky allowing Heracles to get close

Kirito Otonashi

When Rin pointed her finger at Shirou, there is no way she should be able to reach him from that position with how large that table is. I bet she hopped ont he table and laid on it to point at his face

Meteor

The professor at the end was Waver Velvet. Also, I know it’s been requested multiple times, but allow me to add to the chorus and request that you react to the UBW Sunny Days OVA 😊

AC

Such great anime, so much screen time for Tohsaka's thigs

soulieproud

pretty sure the only fate anime they watched before UBW was zero

There's a few things that are not supposed to be there (I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff): - Archer using UBW against Berserker - the main thing: the whole "Caster abducts Sakura to summon the Holy Grail" arc. In the VN, Caster only appears for one scene before getting killed. It spoils (for UBW) who Caster's master is, and also (for Heaven's Feel) Rin and Sakura's relationship. Also Shirou projects Kanshou and Bakuya, which is a hint to his identity.

I will just assume you guys won't be watching Fate/Zero. So the guy who talks to Shirou at the end is from Fate/Zero, the master of Rider

I'm curious, what was in the first series that wasn't supposed to be. I just recently got into Fate and watched the first series and the UBW and Heaven's Feel and I didn't notice anything weird with the first series even though I know that it is supposed to have extra stuff.

MickFoley299

I said it all the way back in the prologue but will say it again, I cannot stress how highly I recommend the Heaven's feel trilogy. The animation and action blow everything else out of the water.

C0nspiracy

Oh, for sure! Having rewatched it recently, I kinda like it now. But as you said, if people start with the ufotable stuff, the 2006 Fate/stay night show is just not very attractive. If it did not have those extra arc with stuff from the other two routes it would be a lot easier to recommend to Fate newcomers.

MrGaldor123

I don't think that the first anime was bad. I thought it was pretty good. Sure in comparison to this, it's animation isn't as nice, but it is still pretty good. It's just something that should be watched first because if people watch this first then in comparison to this they may not like the first series.

And UBW is (almost) finished! Loved your reactions! There is a short OVA episode called "Sunny Day" (like 7-8 minutes or so) that you might want to watch as well, especially as fellow Saber enjoyers :) Are you going to react to the Heaven's Feel Movie Trilogy (also by ufotable)? These three movies adapt the third and final route of the Fate/stay night Visual Novel and are very good. It's a shame that the first route of the Visual Novel (called "Fate" route) only has a not-so-good anime adaptation, so you will probably never watch it. It's my favorite route of the three mostly because it focuses mainly on Saber, and also establishes Shirou as a character. Oh, and the older guy at the end that Shirou talked to about wanting to become a hero of justice - that was Waver from Fate/Zero, Rider's master! He grew up quite a lot in those like 12 years :D

MrGaldor123

Part of the feeling of missing context probably comes from the fact that the original source is a visual novel with 3 routes, this being the middle route and heaven's feel being the final route. Each route is a retelling of the story, where different decisions results in the story taking a different direction. The vn also had its own enclypedia, which got updated as we learned servant names and their noble phantasms. There is a very short ova (7 min) for unlimited blade works called sunny day. If you enjoyed the slice of life, you will enjoy Today's Menu for the Emiya Family and maybe Carnival Phantasm. Carnival Phantasm is an official parody of Fate and Tsukihime, which is a different anime by the same creators. It is from before ufotable, so expected the art to be more... old-school.

I just noticed that at the end their it is the first time archer calls her tohsaka like shirou does
