There's public bathing houses, so you don't want the bath to become too dirty since you're sharing it with everyone. And families often use the same bathwater. So first someone takes a bath, then when they exit the next one enters the bath using that same water. Of course they do clean themselves before entering the bath. Bathing for them is mostly something they do for relaxation, getting rid of fatigue after a hard day of work/school. Meanwhile in the west we bathe to clean as well. At least, those of us who can afford a bath or have the space for it (I don't have the space for it).

2023-02-28 20:38:30 +0000 UTCAs funny as it is to see the weak trio running about in a panic, seeing the powerhouse crew stand their ground and take on those same zombies without flinching is very satisfying. I especially loved the bit where Luffy tries to push the zombie back into the grave, and Sanji giggling over Zoro's display after being touched by the ghost.

2023-02-28 15:51:35 +0000 UTCThe stuff with Cindry and the plates is actually a reference to a classical Japanese kabuki play called Bancho Sarayashiki. In it there is a maid called Okiku that a samurai tries to seduce. After she rejects him, he hides a valuable Dutch plate. He tells Okiku that he will place the blame of stealing it on her unless she becomes his mistress. In Okiku's desperation she throws herself into a well and drowns. Then every night she comes out of the well, counts to nine, and breaks out in screams and cries until it drives the samurai insane. There are other versions of this ghost story where she actually broke a valuable plate of her master's. Her master then kills her and throws her into the well.

2023-02-28 02:44:30 +0000 UTCKinda wild that even the people on this island know luffy has a huge bounty since its just from the previous arc. Back in jaya it took em a while to realize and even then it was pretty lucky that they found out.
