Funnily enough even when the manga was coming out people said the beginning couple of matches made blue lock feel repetitive. But dw the stuff thats coming does ramp up the variety. Basically the story needed a round robin tournament at the start of blue lock to kinda weed out the remaining 275 participants and really set up some monsters
