XD So it was even 10 times more slow for me to get through... but the racing one was more entertaining in my books, despite how frustrating it was at the same time. That being said, I'm gonna miss you guys making Porche's moaning noises. XD

Since the manga was only three games, it was set up so each person could only compete once, not twice. The first game was the barrel race with Nami, Usopp, and Robin (it was only two boats. None of the others were in it). The second game was the Groggy Ring. At this point, Nami came up with her plan to take Foxy. Since Foxy was in the last game it would be an automatic forfeit and the Straw Hats would still win and take Chopper. Her plan made a lot more sense than in the anime where she wanted Foxy so he couldn't cheat. He still could have cheated so that his crew could take him back. It's why her plan made little sense in the anime but made perfect sense in the manga.

2022-11-08 19:43:40 +0000 UTCOnce you are 10-20 episodes more in, I actually have my whole "why LRLL is not only funny but at least in its orignal form without the extra games and filler at least somewhat important for the overall story" explanation, but it's an odd arc in that regard because looking back at it knowing what's coming at least to me really helped to appreciate it more.

2022-11-08 16:00:52 +0000 UTCThe little short arc long ring long island was not bad but was not particularly good either, it was hilarious and ok if sitting back a bit, just like you mentioned. If they kept it like manga it would be ok. The roller, dodge ball and the green light red light were added as a filler. It looked really dragged out a bit, particularly since everyone was eager about the next arc, Water 7, it was making this funny arc look even worst that no one was appreciating the "funny" joke.
