One thing I love about One Piece is, as much as we can complain about Wapol being a weak villain who shoulda been taken out earlier on (by Luffy), the series actually spared us from a LONGER fight with him, as Nami stealing the key to his arsenal prevented him from powering up. If this was any other shounen series, that key woulda either never been stolen or snatched away from Nami at another point, allowing Wapol access. But One Piece enjoys destroying expectations for cliches every now and then. XD

2022-07-28 21:40:39 +0000 UTCWapol is definitely one of the most annoying antagonists and an overall downgrade compared to Arlong before, but it only goes up from here especially with Crocodile around the corner (plus it's a bit of fun after the sadness Chopper's backstory brought us)
