As mentioned previously, I'm taking this week to return to some prior work so it isn't left behind. I've been filling in part one of a two part set. I started working on this at 10pm, and am now losing steam at 5am. SO! I think I'll call it a night, and then finish this off sometime this Tuesday evening before I move on to part two.
It isn't common that I start on the background first, but I really want to push myself to make more stable backgrounds. Or, better intergrate figures into backgrounds. I think coloring the bg first will help me make better choices with my figures.
This is actually inspired by my prior cruise vacation in Jamaica. On one of our excursions, we climbed all the way up a rushing water fall. It was intimidating, but we had a very good guide lead the way. As I'm coloring, I'm looking through photos we took, trying to remember how the water bubbled and foamed, or how worn all the river side tree roots were as they weaved in and out of the rocks. Was a really cool, inspiring experience. I hope to add more adventure into artworks in the future.
ANYWAY! I'm very pleased with this so far, so I'll for sure be adding this to a portfolio when it's done. So I um, have something proper to show people lolol.
Thank you all as always! I hope you like the preview.
