It's the "A bit of silliness" update...

Hello!

A bit of a general progress update before I get to the title of this post and the fun stuff.

Chapter Three

Some minor glitches cropped up on Three in respect of the communications system on the PDA meaning that messages from the girls weren't triggering as I wanted. Rectified now (along with an error on the code in Two as well that had been hiding away). So that can now bundle off of proper testing.

The "Not one to waste a crisis" additional buff to the lewd in Three turned out really nice in the end. Oh, it's still a fairly straightforward animation, don't get me wrong. But like polishing your car headlights*, it really made a difference. It does need sound though... But I'll mull on that whilst the chapter is being bashed around by the guys.

Chapter Four

So onwards to Four and dropping in the new interface etc. I'm not expecting to do much additional polish to this chapter (as tempting as it is to redo the water effects for Sarah in the lake, I won't). The items on my hit list are:

a) The GUI interface to be added

b) The domme module to have some cut content restored**

c) A couple of fresh combat animations for VR to reflect the new combat options

d) The VR princess scene might get a buff

e) Extend Trisha's lewd

f) Replace/update Channel 7

g) Explore if I can get some better water effects for the shower scenes. They were made before I had Adobe After Effects and I suspect I can make them look a lot better, which would be a useful skill to have for Chapter Six.

and that's it.

I'll set up the animations first and get them running whilst I layer in the coding for the GUI etc. In theory, they shouldn't get in the way of production and Four should be a decent turn around time wise especially as the code is consistent with Three.

BUT! Let us turn to the header of this post, for I'm pleased to say I have a little game for you.

The silly bit

Now it is rather silly. Strip Philosophy Ping Pong started out life as a one page filler in a copy of Bored Pilot, then became a small filler clip on Channel 7 and is now a game. Shockingly, it involves ping pong - and philosophy...

Incredible as it may seem, it was inspired by some of the old late night German and Italian tv shows where they would, if not philosophy ping pong, have some form of run of the mill game that involved stripping. I vaguely recall they did a strip tennis match once. So, given that chess-boxing is also a real thing, mash those two concepts together and it's not as bonkers a stretch as it might appear...

"But Notty", I hear some of you say, "why waste your time making this when you could have had Three done and be well on your way with Four?" A good, and fair, point. And given I'm not turning my patreon charging on until Five is ready, one that I have more sympathy with than you'd realise.

But, it was largely made on the redundant 2070 machine, so the animation production hasn't really got in the way or slowed me down. Oh, the coding and learning how to make an animated game like this did take some time for sure. As indeed did the animation for if you win. But both of those have a beneficial effect down the line. I said in an earlier post, I'd wanted ping pong with Sarah but had to cut it as, although the scene was pretty good, it felt nothing like a real game. So much so it broke immersion and actually made a good scene bad. But now I know how to make it....

The other spin off is for a lewd for Annie. Any Female MC's chasing down the poor girl will appreciate what I've learned from the victory animation. The one in ping pong is  decent. Not great, but passable. But I now can do much better having learned quite a bit making it. And that means the type of scene like this that will go into the main game will be so much better.

Of course, when I add an extra couple of girls to play with for the bonus pack, I'll not only be able to reuse most of the code here (so it should be fairly simple), but will also be able to make the animations somewhat better to having had the experience of making this set. I suspect, although I haven't decided yet, to have different sorts of win animations. But that looks like a vote type issue to me.

So lots of bonus spin offs from this project. But, enough waffle.

Downloads

With a slight delay, as I decided at the last minute to add a load of sound effects to the animation, please find attached download links below for Strip Philosophy Ping Pong.

It has a mini-tutorial and, in a blast from the past, Becca to guide you through it. It's silly although rather satisfying when you get a rally going.

If you choose to play it, and you don't have to of course, I hope you enjoy it. ***

*Oh you should do this y'know. Makes a big diff to the look of the car and a huge diff to how far you can see at night. Baking soda and lemon juice works pretty well if you don't want to buy a cleaner from Halfords/local autoshop.

** I lost my nerve at the time. Believe it or not I was worried someone might get hurt...

*** I made September! My clock says 23.58!

It's the "A bit of silliness" update...

Comments

Well now I can say I've played Strip Philosophy Ping Pong before! And I'm not good at either! But still, highly unique. Although I still feel these little mini-games lack the same... draw as the ones in the game proper, due to them not having a defined player character to interact with

Kris

Thanks Notty, really enjoyed the table tennis. Would love to see Sarah in it too!
