It's the "Renders, renders, everywhere!" update...

Hi guys :)

Firstly, a warm welcome to my new Patrons. Thank you for your support and I do hope you're enjoying your time in my little world.

Progress

Progress wise I've animation frames flying off the PC at the moment with another 1,000 framer finished overnight and despatched to the testers for quality checks and views. Some of my earlier animation work I am having to tweak a bit though I'm finding.

Nothing horrendous just removing some "uncanny" valley aspects to the animation where the animation looks good - but doesn't look real. I suppose given I keep pushing what I want to do animation wise this shouldn't be a surprise that I'm not getting it exactly right first time but it's still a bit vexing all the same. As an example there is a short part of a larger animation set underwater. The composition was fine, the pace was fine, the lighting was fine, etc etc etc. It looked really good - and yet didn't at the same time.

It took me an age to realise that the plants underwater should move slightly and that, for that scene, angle and length, the character (yes, alright, it's Sarah...) should be seen to inhale/exhale. Once I'd corrected those, the scene stopped looking odd.

I'm about half way through the script and code and want to get it wrapped up this week so will still be quieter than usual this week as I focus. Given it's going to pop out at around 65 to 70 thousand words, three weeks for something longer than some classic novels (and HG Wells didn't have to do knob jokes) I'm pretty OK with that I think.

Once I have the script nailed then I can start bashing out the accompanying stills and then we'll have a better idea of progress as I'll be able to list scenes signed off etc.

Polls, commissions etc.

I'll be dropping the Thea supporters a line next week for their glam commissions. Poll this month will be for the "Penny" magazine content. I've a few things on the stocks ideas wise and they all seem fun to me (if not to Penny!) so I think this is something you guys should choose.

Oh! Most finally and most importantly, I choose Becca's outfit for the intro.
