I'll be honest , that's what's at the back of my mind. I don't want all my time vanishing running a discord channel y'know? At the mo we're all aces chaps but......well you never know...

AKA SinPhil. I not a fan of Discord, expired invites. invite limits, need for invites and when finally get there is up to game developer to have Mods and manage trolls and bullies. I only tried twice though but both were distasteful experiences with pack abusing every minority or anyone daring to voice different opinions.

As for to-discord-or-to-not-discord.. I don't really care either way. I have the thing installed, but currently don't use it too often. In general, I find discords even worse than the Eff Ninety Five forums with people asking "are we there yet?" or pinging the developer, except for a few which are extremely tight moderated (Bot warning on first offense, admin bans on second offense already, and there's usually an admin around, they have a bunch of them world wide)

It's awesome! I absolutely love it! You're pushing the boundaries again! :) Regarding the speed, maybe somehow making the video to play slower would help? When I run it at 0.8 speed, it feels the best to me.

I don't like discords either, the big ones with lots of people anyway. If it's as chill and funny as the forum we talk in though then sure.

Ideally Intrepid would be slower and we would have more detail but would require another 200 frames, plus most peeps will just skip it anyway I suspect :) BUT, the main point of it was could I generate 10 secs of ani in short order. Yes would seem to be the answer and bear in mind this was done rather quickly all told and with not much lighting....y'know because space...

Yet, how welcome mods are when a troll appears, hm? I respect their decision to clean the thread of off-topic posts. I don't think that is something to feel hurt about. Just accept it and carry on. Without moderation threads can easily turn into a nightmare. Some order is necessary.

Fine by me, that post was already delete, but I already said I am not going to change my posting habits anyway. The idea is though that you give the mods peace of mind by moving that stuff to a community thread. Allowing mods to keep using their bad and out of date metrics, while still keeping the community feel and making it one click to join community thread without having to log in for any player from game thread. Just look at the amount of postings since the intervention yesterday ..... Also it is not like mods will suddenly stop complaining if keep using the game thread as we were.

Also a suggestion I made on FP is you might be able to create a community thread that might not fall under same rules as a game thread. Maybe something to think about.

All those conversion :eek: Let me introduce you FFmpeg, the ultimate tool of all video related issues. :) If you got image-001.png, image-002.png ... then "ffmpeg -i image-%03d.png video.mp4" and done! Ridiculously useful, fast, contains huge amount of codecs, portable. Command line only, but there are made GUIs for it, if you need it.

I voted no, simply because there are already some other com channels open.... and it is already hard to keep up with what is going on. The f95 forum alone can generate 5-10+ pages a day... Plus, you got the game itself and the bored pilot to do... getting sucked into the black hole of another time sink won't be a good thing for those screaming for chapter 5, 6, 7, 8, ...

Forum is defo my preference. Discord is awfully unfriendly to use in comparison IMO. It's just a chaotic mess. Still, I would follow to you to the bottomless abyss... of Discord as well, if need be. :) Pick what suits you the best. :)

I would highly recommend Discord! It's a great opportunity to network and find new audiences. I work on a game myself, and I've received tremendous and invaluable feedback and advice from renowned devs, like Belle and Team Dead Deer. I met my writer through there, artists through there, great testers from there. Plus, when you have people visit, they sometimes bring their friends, too. So, it's a great way to gain exposure, too. Time zones is not an issue at all. I'm 12 hours off from UK, and I visit discords from US, Europe, Asia, all over. Moreover, I made some great friends this way. :)

Well I do not use discord and am not planning to ever use it, just reasons. To be honest, I do not think any dev became more communicative after using Discord, but as a non user of it that makes sense :P

I'm really not a fan of Discord. I've tried to use it a few times, it's just not user friendly in the slightest. I will just say that I'm also not a fan of the wording you used above in the poll. You don't bother us at all, except when you tease.

I'm not really a discord person. Try it once and although I didn't hate it, the "immediate" nature of exchanges as well as timezone and other logistic issues, as you said, aren't my cup of tea (or my cake of Jaffa?). That being said, if it was to spend time with you crazy sweet, crazy fun and generally crazy crazy people, it might be worth it. Will abstain from voting for now, though...

I am personally more a fan of Discord than a thread in a forum. The thread kind of gets too much for me. But all in all I would say you should use what you like best 😊
