Just sorting out a save compatibility issue

Did a build but it didn't like using an old save. I think it's down to the new variables and the code I've used to define them. But  it seems I just need to rephrase the coding so that it loads them regardless and the save doesn't overwipe them. On it.

Well, I'm certainly getting a baptism of fire this month aren't I? :) But you're right, hitting all the issues now when the game is still quite small isn't a bad thing at all.

It's a fair point Ma Ko, and one you do see all too often. But it seemed unfair of me to ask people to play the game again if I could solve it - and by a bloody miracle, I did! :)

Ren'py save issues are like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Strange, gets everywhere, and sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Just in case this becomes tricky to fix, don't worry about it too much. Broken saves due to coding changes seem to be a common occurance in ren'py games. After so many playthroughs of Ch.1 there is always room for a few more, I say. Might even be better for those who haven't played it that much and forgot things. :)

I like to think it's not necessarily a bad thing to encounter all these issues now, because it's still early in the game and it means that it shouldn't happen again \o/ *tries to cheer you up*
