Weekly update: No 3; poll results and more...
Added 2019-01-21 09:00:12 +0000 UTCAccountability time!
Important things first though! The poll results for dear Chris.
Romping in first place with more than half of the votes was "Show me how you handle it" with "You made a mess" in second place. I'll confess I'm looking forward to writing both of those :) Thank you to everyone who took part and I only regret I couldn't make all of it optional content due to my rendering limitations. That isn't to say if I can upgrade the IT side of things that they might not make any optional appearance later of course - even if not with our amazonian pilot.
Later today we have our second poll of the month for $10 and $15 patrons in respect of the magazine contents but I'll keep the details of that for the later post rather than clutter up this one.
So, what have I been up to?
Writing and coding, naturally but also hot on the render trail. This month has quite a lot of content I need to get through to keep my story structure. On that, some of you might be interested to know how that structure works. Well, as a rough rule of thumb I work of what I call a 3-4-3 formation. So 3/10's is the start, 4/10's the middle and 3/10's the end. Not only is the main game structured in this way but so are the individual chapters (more or less, your mileage may vary depending on the choices you make).
So this chapter follows that beat, although with me bringing in the consequences of some of the options from Chapter One that gives me thirteen scenes to render, of which progress is going pretty well so far. Rendering overnight (which I hate tbh as you never really know what you're getting until the morning) I should have the core of all the scenes rendered this week which then gives me time to produce what I call "top up renders" for those scenes. By that I mean when I start adding the graphics to the game I may feel I need some additional graphics or cut aways to make the scene run smoother. I won't really know until I bring the scene together however.
Speaking of assets I've also been playing around with 3DFit as recommended, and I -like- the results. The things I've been able to do with poor Sarah's night t-shirt have been fun :)
Anyhoo that's it from me for now. Laters!

2019-01-27 12:20:33 +0000 UTCI figured you'd `like Fit Control. I don't know why it isn't a staple in more developer's toolboxes.

2019-01-21 19:22:47 +0000 UTCWhat have you been doing to Sarah's nightshirt? 343 sounds like a game studio. Thanks for the update.
