The rebranding didn’t help their case one bit, did it? I think both could be true, Jose could have molested them and the mother could have looked the other way and they could be be stone cold sociopaths because of it.

2023-04-26 03:04:37 +0000 UTCDo people believe the Menendez brothers were abused? I recall that coming up only after a mistrial or hung jury (don't recall which) and at the retrial. They were 'rebranded' with those v neck sweaters and claims of abuse, with tears and so forth. Also someone claimed at the time one of the brothers was getting regular deliveries of books from Book Soup and that one of the books, someone claimed, had such stories in it that were much like those later told at trial. I saw one of the brothers randomly while they were still free, before their arrest (must have been) but after the murders. They were free for some time. Remember (to anyone; or does anyone?) they also bought movie tickets and called in the murders and pretended to be grief stricken and afraid and surprised in that phone call. I think it was a Batman movie at Century City mall/cinemas. Their 'alibi' at first was: they were at that movie. Premeditated murder, due to the ticket buying, I'd think? "Allegedly," they killed their mom too because they wanted the money. The murder injuries were numerous. Then they went on spending sprees. Did people believe the abuse stories?
