Chapter 75 - Six Italian Crime Families?

3rd Person Pov

The Silence broke when Liam asked which immediately grabbed all their attention “The Italian Crime families, do you guys know them?”

They all nodded as if who wouldn't know about them and Boyle took this chance and spoke up “The Six Italian Crime Families of New York” 

‘Six?’ Liam was taken back by this new information.

[According to your memories, the Godfather movie only showed five families right?] Eve asked Liam who was also in a bit of confusion ‘Yea! There were only five families but Boyle is saying six.’ 

“Why did you ask about the six Italian crime families Liam?” Cross asked in a curious tone as all eyes were on Liam 

They knew Liam wouldn't have brought it up if there was something useful there and his next words made them frown

“I had my private investigator look at this Turk character and it seems like the Italian Crime Families are also linked with the Turk” Liam lied, he had to put out the info from the godfather movie so that he could get things moving faster as there was the security issue. 

Liam wasn't worried about his own safety but he did have Emma and his family in California so he wanted to end this fast. 

“Which family? Jake asked

“My guy hasn't found that yet but he’s sure about the link between Virgil Sollozzo and the Italian Crime Families” Liam presented the info with confidence as he knows the correlations between this Turk and the one from the Godfather movie is very close, so taking a guess and throwing out this info wont have any backlash in the future even if it isn't true

“Which family do you guys think will be interested in Narcotics?” Liam asked and Ruiz was first to reply “All of them. What type of question is that” he asked weirdly but Cross, Jake and Boyle shook their heads in unison at Ruiz’s reply.

“Corleone, Barzini, Tattaglia, Cuneo, Stracci and Greco are the six Italian Crime families of New York, Ruiz” Cross explained and continued

“Even though all of them are criminals breaking the Law, some families have lines they don't want to cross. The best example would be the Corleone. The Corleone family stays away from business involving Guns, Women, Children and Drugs. They only focus on gambling and liquor.” Cross finished

“They are criminals, when the opportunity presents itself, they won't hesitate to get into any business and earn green” Ruiz commented but Jake spoke up. 

“It’s not like that Ruiz, Mr.Cross is right. Our 99 has few cases against the italian families but the Corleone is the only one with no live investigation as they are tied with the right top guys from powerful places. These connections help with when they face trouble from the Law and they connections help because there are certain business the Corleone family don't get it to and this led them to constant growth without major issues and become the most powerful family of the Six” he finished in a single breath and Cross also nodded, agreeing with Jake.

Ruiz finally got the picture and Liam also nodded as this info matched with the movie. In the movie, Don Corleone didn't like the drug business and always avoided getting linked to narcotics.    

“We have to find out who the Turk is working with” Cross said

Liam just nodded. He knew it must be the Barzini family just like the movie but he didn't want to give out more info.

[If you give more, they could corner this Turk faster] Eve commented but Liam didn't give any reaction outside but thought ‘Indeed it would move things faster but the end result is kind of unsatisfactory’

[Unsatisfactory?] she asked confused 

‘Yes, If I say that the Turk is linked with Barzini, they would only move on Barzini and the other families will escape. If we build a case from scratch, i can lead them take down all the Crime Families’ Liam said and he couldn't help but smirk 

[You’re going after all of them!] Eve asked in a shocked tone.

‘Why not, it's easier to take all of them out in a single shot’ 

[Looks like your going to war against the whole Italian Crime Families] 

“We should start an investigation on six Italian Crime Families!” Cross said while looking at Liam as if asking for his opinion and Liam also agreed

“Yes, but we need the best of the best and trust worthy people  if we are going to get to the root of this” Liam stated and everyone agreed and Jake said “I would like to volunteer for this investigation” and Boyle also voiced out that he also wanted to join in. 

Cross did not reply but everyone knew he was in charge of this case as the shooting incident took place in his jurisdiction but surprisingly he turned to Liam and asked “What do you think Liam?” 

Liam just smiled and said while looking between Cross and Ruiz  “Jake and Boyle can't get involved in the case just like that so you guys should start the investigation and after getting the approval we can work together and for that ” Liam looked at Jake and Boyle and said “First, we have to set up a meeting where both our bosses are present. We have many things discussed and they must agree on working on this case.”

All of them nodded as what Liam said made sense. Cross said his bye and left with Ruiz as he had many things to handle back at the shooting scene. 

Both Jake and Boyle offered their place for Liam to stay as they were worried about his safety and Liam tried his best saying he was fine with a hotel but in the end Boyle won and Liam also knew he can't be staying in a hotel for a long time.

Out of the two places offered, Liam chose Boyle as his place was much better that Jake’s place as Jake was such a mess and Boyle said Jake was currently dating someone. Boyle was the obvious choice as he is a Bachelor right now, has a good place and has great cooking skills. 

Next, Liam took out his phone and called back Emma and explained the whole situation from start to the end. She lost it when Liam said he was shot at but he managed to calm her down and made her understand that meeting him right now could put her in unnecessary danger. 

He finally convinced and she agreed not to meet in person on the condition that Liam called her regularly. It was decided that Emma was going to temporarily stay Bruce’s house which Liam thought was a big step in their relationship but she said in a bland tone that this won't be the first time she stayed with Banner to which Liam was taken back but didn't get into it and said he will talk later and cut the call.

Liam left with Boyle and Jake to Boyle’s house but Liam forced them to make a stop to take care of something. Liam wanted to book a new bike but both Jake and Boyle protested saying Liam can't be too exposed and Liam needed a mode of transportation so they compromise and stopped by a car dealer and after browsing, Liam decided to lease a black sedan as a temporary.

With everything done, Liam drove his leased car and followed Jake’s car as the went to Boyle’s apartment.
