Ira and Aster - Fit for the Role

"Queen Iscari, you may introduce your chosen recruits before the council."

"Yeah, and let them talk a little bit! I want hear from the class of 96 in their own words why they wanna be guardians so bad."

"Thank you, great goddesses of order and chaos." The snake queen rose from her knee and gestured to the four kneeling behind her, each one of them wearing just basic clothing. "As the goddesses of House Aetheria have commanded, stand, identify yourself, and tell the council what brought you here today."

The first was a very short blue fox with a soft, round figure. She stood and put her hands on her hips proudly. "Name's Pepper Vulpane, hailing from the city of Darkmarsh!" She seemed excited. "I'm here to fight demons and look amazing doing it!"

Next, a brown furred canine with blue hair and blue eyes stood, keeping his arms at his sides. "M-My name is Sam Yaeger! I am a native of Unity... and I felt compelled to help because of the rising threats to the planet. And that I have something to offer to the guardians."

A white goat-like girl stood up. Even without her upward curved horns she stood nearly a head taller than the canine. "Howdy. I'm Asriel Dreemurr, daughter of Asgore Dreemurr." This name being spoken made several members of the council look surprised, making the goat smirk. "I hope to continue his legacy. Maybe even surpass him."

Finally, a cream-furred fox stood up, an intense look on his face. Despite the fire in his heart, the fox’s pear shaped body shook nervously in the presence of so many powerful people. "My name is Aster Saito, from Sorterias." He closed his eyes and clenched his fists. "However, my name and where I am from are far less important than my reason for joining the Guardian Corps. I... I will do anything it takes to save my fiancé from the Blackwave. No matter the personal cost."

-----

"God, I came off way too strong..." Aster thought to himself.

About an hour after he had introduced himself to the council, Aster was already miles and miles away from the Gathering Hall in Unity Hill. Queen Serena had brought him and the other new recruits to her massive palace in the desert of Oasis by way of teleportation. Tomorrow his training would truly begin in earnest, and he was suddenly feeling nervous sitting alone in a locker room that was adjacent to a massive futuristic training chamber. Despite his heart driving him into service, he questioned if he could keep up with everything, including just how different Unity was compared to where he came from.

He looked down at himself and blushed brightly. The arrival to Unity through the reincarnation method had physically transformed his body in a way that did not befit a fit and adept magical warrior such as himself. His hips were so wide... and beyond that, his butt was so soft and plush. He had a very womanly figure compared to his previous thin build back at home.

"Damn it..." Aster muttered, poking and prodding at his thick thighs that made the bench he sat on much more comfortable. His face flushed. "I'm not even that big anywhere else..." He had signed up for the guardian corps just a day after arriving on Unity without even considering his current physical shape, and now he was starting to regret it. However, he noted just how odd everyone else in his group had looked for a group that was supposedly the main military force of the planet. The blue fox girl was tiny, and even more confusing was that she was very wide. Aster might have even called her fat if he had a single mean bone in him.

Aster sighed and lowered his head, closing his eyes and trying to process all of the thoughts swirling in his head. "This place is so bizarre. I wonder if it will be a good home for me and Nika... when I find her."

"I'm sure you will," someone said, their voice coming from right next to where Aster was sitting.

"Holy-!" Aster nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden appearance, launching forwards off of the bench and rolling onto his back when he slammed into the ground. His eyes were wide as he beheld the person who suddenly appeared in the room, the impish black-furred cat who had been in front of him just an hour before. Aster blinked. "I-Ira Aetheria!?"

The cat goddess, who wore her trademark latex garb that left very little to the imagination, waved at him from the bench. "Hi Aster!"

Aster scrambled to his feet, the average height fox standing tall over Ira where she sat. "What, wha- Mmm... w-with all due respect Ira, what the heck are you doing here?" he stammered, looking very embarrassed. Ira's amused expression did nothing to alleviate that feeling.

"I appreciate your statement of respect, but please don't talk too loud." Ira put a finger to her lips and shushed. "I'm supposed to be here to drop off some equipment for your training." She grabbed the edge of the bench with both hands, kicking her legs under it rhythmically. "Technically, I'm still here to do that! But, I'm gonna be breaking the rules a bit by giving you your equipment first."

Aster blinked. "Huh? Equipment? What kind of equipment?"

Ira grinned. "Something straight from the Unex Labs in Clearwater, from our most esteemed magical scientists. Might sound like I'm hyping it up a lot, but it's actually pretty badass!"

Aster looked interested, leaning in closer toward her. "OK... but, uh... where is it? I don't see you carrying anything."

"Why carry things when you have magic?" Ira stuck her arms and legs out in an approximation to a t-shaped pose, as best she could sitting down on the bench. "Do this for me and then I'll show you!"

Looking skeptical and more than a little nervous, he swallowed the lump in his throat and did as he was instructed. He held his arms out to his sides and spread his legs apart where he stood. "OK... got the Vitruvian Man going on here," he joked, blushing a bit. With a magical pop, suddenly things felt really drafty in the locker room. "Eh?" Looking down at himself made him cry out in surprise, reaching down to cover his now nude body. All of his clothes had totally disappeared. "Ira, is this some kind of prank!?" he shouted, looking up at her.

Ira rolled her eyes, her smirk remaining constant. "So much for staying quiet... anyways, take a look at your hands."

Aster blinked, glancing back down to his arms. He thought that he was totally nude, but in actuality he was now wearing two metal bracelets around his wrists. "Huh..." Curiously he raised his hand toward his face to look and his eyes opened a bit wider when he saw a glowing red light emanating from a small hole. "What are these things?" Now that he was a bit more aware, he could feel a similar tightness around his ankles and his neck. Reaching up to feel at his neck confirmed it when he felt the same kind of metallic ring. Questions were flashing in his mind but one look at the impish cat goddess and she was ready to tell him what to do.

"Close your eyes and focus your mana." She closed her eyes, prompting Aster to do just the same. "Start from your hands and feet and then move it inward all at once. You can do that, right?"

"Yeah... yeah, I can." Aster breathed in and out and relaxed his body, putting his arms to his sides as he started to do just as Ira instructed. His mana stirred without him, just like the feeling when he was about to cast a powerful spell. He directed this buildup of power to his limbs, opening his hands and spreading his stance out even more. Then, once this power had gathered, he pulled it back toward his heart. As he did this, he gasped when he suddenly felt something cling to his entire body. He opened his eyes and was in awe at what he saw.

Aster was now wearing a form-fitting black and red bodysuit that contained almost his entire body save for his hands, feet, tail, and head. It clung to his body snuggly almost like a latex suit, but unlike latex it was light and breathable; he could feel the air from the cool locker room slightly passing the strange membrane of the suit. When he moved his arm to his face to get a closer look, the rubber made no noise when it rubbed against itself. No squeaking noise. Quizzically he rubbed his finger along the material where it connected to the bracelet. It seemed to be securely fastened to it.

"Holy crap..." Aster muttered, lifting a leg to get a look at the suit's connection to the anklets as well. His stomach and most of his torso including his chest was contained in a red mesh while the arms and legs were black. On his arms, there was a V-shaped emblem that glowed red and on his thighs there was a red strip of glowing light that struck him as looking like some kind of meter. "What is this thing...?"

Ira was grinning from ear to ear. "This is your mag-amp suit. That's short for magical amplification."

"Mag... amp?" Aster looked intrigued, tugging at the suit on his arm. It stretched when he pulled, and when he released it snapped back against his fur. "From the name I think I have an idea of what it does."

"I could sit here and explain it," Ira said, floating up off the bench. With a flick of her finger, the door in the locker room leading to the test chamber creaked open. "Or... you could go in there and see for yourself."

Aster's excitement grew, taking the goddesses' gesture as permission to enter the chamber. He ran past the glass window and through the open door into the massive metallic room. Even in the darkness, it glowed with the light of protective runes on the ceiling and hummed with the sounds of computers and monitoring devices within the walls. He had been in here about thirty minutes ago, but he was still in awe of the whole place. It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.

The lights around the walls kicked on, making Aster turn to see Ira on the other side of the glass wall. "W-What should I do?" he asked, stepping a little closer to her.

Ira raised a brow. "What should you do? Well first of all, you shouldn't be in there at all..." Aster's ears lowered, looking a little guilty. His guilt deflated when Ira chuckled. "Hey come on, I'm just messing with you! I let you in there after all. How about... you show me one of your most impressive spells?"

Aster mulled over what she said, rubbing his chin. "Most impressive? Well, I mean... that could be a lot of things." He racked his brain for what spell stood out in his mind the most as a powerful, impressive spell. Slowly, one memory bubbled up to the top and the fox smiled as he pictured it. "Hm… sure! I know something that I could show you, Ira. It was a spell that my mother used a lot. It’s very hard to cast but… it should be impressive if I can pull it off!!"

Ira winked. "Go for it."

Aster turned and took a few steps toward the center of the huge rectangular room. He took a glance down at his suit, the lights on it glowing dimly with red light.

He focused on the red light when he held out his right hand and opened it. He remembered his mother doing just the same many times before casting this spell. It was a signature spell of hers and one that he always tried to replicate but couldn't quite manifest the mana needed to pull it off consistently. He breathed out and pictured a burning fire and a massive, swelling glow of light that it produced. His stance changed, going down on a knee and holding his open hand above his head. A projection of light burst from his fingertips, the light sticking in the air and forming into a long pole-like shape. A sharp tip formed, a tip that burned with hot glowing embers. It was a spear of fire and light. Aster reached higher and grabbed it, pulling the burning hot spear down.

"Valkyrie!" he shouted, standing up and launching the spear across the room in one solid, practiced motion. It blasted through the air like a missile until Aster closed his open hand. The flying spear exploded into a spectacular fireball that lit up the room like the sun before it faded away, leaving the whole chamber many degrees hotter. Aster breathed labored breaths... but he continued to stand much to his own surprise. He expected to feel massive fatigue from using a spell like that. "Wait..."

Ira clapped and whooped from the window. "Duuude, that was awesome! Do it again, do it again!"

Shaking his head, Aster repeated his steps. He followed his mother's technique, manifesting the burning hot javelin and throwing it through the air. Even with another massive explosion that made sweat drip down his brow, his mana reserves barely felt a dent. Aster stared forward and then to his hand. He was in utter disbelief. "Ira... I should probably be dead from doing that twice," he said quietly, turning around to face her. He pointed to torso, poking at the mesh around his belly. "Is this suit really doing this?"

"You betcha! That's the power of the mag-amp. It makes spellcasting so much more mana efficient. Almost all of the mana that you use to cast is refunded right back into your reserves." She crossed her arms and gave a playful look. "It makes mortals feel like they're gods. I have to take their word for it since... well, you know."

Aster laughed out loud, partially at her words and partially because of how insane the feat he had just done was. "This suit is really something amazing..."

Ira floated over and pulled open the door back into the locker room, gesturing for Aster to come back in which he did in short order. He had a giddy grin on his face which Ira noted. "So... I take it that you like it?"

"Yeah!" Aster said, his tail wagging "Even beyond the power it gives, it feels really nice. Fits snug and it's light as a feather. It feels a bit like latex, but it doesn't squeak or chafe. It honestly feels like I'm wearing nothing at all. I was able to move around unencumbered by it, I could even forget it was there!" Aster wiggled his body around, sticking out his rump. "I think my only problem... is why does this thing make my ass look so big...?" Aster complained, reaching behind him and tugging on the material that clung to his plush round butt.

"Because your ass is really big?" Ira noted, tilting her head back and ruffling her hair with a hand. "That's one of the reasons I came here early to talk with you... I came here to check in on you and make sure that you weren't... upset about that."

Aster raised a brow. "What do you mean? You have nothing to do with that, Ira."

Ira gulped, shaking her head. "Actually... I might have been the one to spirit mend you, which basically means that your soul was inside of my body for a while so I could make you a body. N-Not that your soul was damaged or anything, you just needed a physical form since you sorterians don't typically have those... One of the things that can happen as a result is that the mender passes some traits onto the mendee." Aster pondered this for a few moments, slowly putting things together. He started to blush, made even worse when Ira gestured down to her massive hips. "L-Like I said... sorry," she said, looking a little sad.

Aster frowned, looking back at his rear and sighing. "I guess... that explains why I look like this. If I took on some of your physical traits, it tracks that... I'd have a big butt." He gulped. Now that he thought about it, his black and red mag-amp matched the goddess of chaos’ color palette exactly. He wasn't sure why that fact gave him excited butterflies in his stomach. In a way, he felt like Ira was his patron goddess…

Ira clasped her hands together in front of her, lowering her head in shame. "You hate it, don't you? You can be honest! I can take it... It's not the first time I've made a stupid mistake..."

Aster frowned, taking a few steps forward and hugging the floating Ira tightly, making the cat demon yelp. "With all due respect... stop that." He smiled, nuzzling into her neck. "Ira. Thank you for everything you've given me. This suit... and this body. Fat ass and all. Without it, I wouldn't be able to fight for Unity... and for Nika." He pulled back his head to look into Ira's eyes, a determined look in his purple eyes. "Please don't be sad. If a big butt is the worst thing you've given me, then..." He smiled wide, closing his eyes as his tail wagged. "I think that we'll be pretty good friends."

Ira's eyes sparkled as she met Aster's own. "Friends...?"

That made Aster chuckle nervously. "I-I don't know if goddesses can make friends with mortals. Is there some kind of rule or..."

Ira pulled Aster in this time, holding him tightly. "No. We can be friends." She giggled. "In fact I would love to be friends with you, Aster Saito. I would love that a lot." Aster hummed happily and returned the hug in kind.
