Hello everyone!
Update February 3rd
Finished the armor pieces. I also added the ears requested on the arms and on the belt, I will keep those as separate objects so that you can remove them in case you think they are too Creepy.
Today I will pose, fix the anatomy, and will do my best to support and print.
Update February 2nd
Yesterday I worked mainly on the hair and some minor details (Like his armor). I might come back and add some more details to the hair since it's the main piece for him. For now, I will work on finishing the details of his armor pieces.
---End of Update---
Today I bring an update on the forest troll chieftain. I started him yesterday, and so far I have blocked out the shapes and proportions of the character. Since there was no mention I went for Hots style (strong torso, long arms, and shorter legs). As a comparison for size, he is standing on a 25mm round base, and to his side a female troll that I made last year (unopposed, I believe she has equivalent to 2.14 meters, taller than an average human). The head looks a bit weird because I haven't made the Eyes (only the holes for them).
Seeing the model as he is now I believe that I should make the head a bit smaller.
Since it was not requested the pose I started thinking about it, and I have gathered a few options in the second picture. The ones I am more tempted to go to are the one with the log or the Dragonborn from 4th edition d&d. Because many of his parts are naked (the muscles that is) I will pose him before adding details.
Honorable mention, while browsing for reference about body proportions I found that lower picture on the second image. From W2 to WOW trolls have really shrunk lol. The difference is massive, that's why I went with Hots style because it resembles more than old W2.
I will keep updating this post as I progress in the sculpting process.
A question, should I create a new post at every WIP, should I keep updating the older post, or should I reduce the amount of WIP that I am posting? Feel free to speak your mind.
Best regards,
Ivo
