Hello everyone!
Update 2nd July
I was mistaken... lol. I could not finish him yesterday, but done all the posing and checked his body, now I am working on the hand options. There will be 2 hand options Flaming sword and Flame Hand, interchangeable Left and Right.
I am sharing today's WIP because I wanted to show some of the possible pose hands. The flames will have an Arc to give the idea of motion. You will be able to mix his hands or complement him with previous hands.
100% sure that I will finish him today.
Update 1st July
I started posing the model, I can't post the image here because it's not looking good right now... sry. I added the image of yesterday's Instagram stories.
This is the last WIP update. I will probably finish this model tomorrow morning, today I am working on changing links, rewards, and other monthly turn routines.
Update 30th June
I have refined a bit the armor of the Keeper of flames. I am still trying to find a shape for the headpiece.
I could not find a way to fit an armor on his lower part so I added a bit taller leg plate (I also kept the horn from the original). The chest piece I will hold in place with chains after posing the model. I will add some embroidery on the armguards and on the main chest piece.
---End of Update---
Sharing my progress on the keeper of Flames, unfortunately, since I have to sculpt the armor for this one I will take a bit more time and will probably invade next month's time but it won't be a big deal.
Anyway, let's talk about design... Hard to do. The thing is that at first glance looking at Firemane Scalebane, it sounds cool but having a closer look, some parts have too much intersection meaning that translating this to a miniature might be awkward.
Another problem that I will have is the back armor and intersection with the fins on the back.
I will try to adjust more parts to get the most of the reference but, I will probably create more armor pieces to fit the character.
The image attached will change, it's an early blockout. I will update this post as I move along in the sculpting process.
Best regards,
Ivo
