Four Horsemen - Pestilence (Test Print)

Hello everyone!

I have uploaded Pestilence in the google drive folder.

He has 2 body options ( Mask and Helmet), 4 Hand Options (Polearm, Curved long sword, Death Coil, and Empty hand). There is a 25.4mm round base but you can use any base you wish. Using a 3d app (like blender) you can also remove the chains, and smoke/fire from the shoulders and head (You can use this head for another project or add another head for him).

I will now work on the renders, I will probably upload him on the MMF store today. I will let you guys know.

After I am done uploading this miniature I will definitely look for a miniature photograph tutorial, for I am not happy with the quality of the images that I take. If you know a good one please share, my current setup is a cellphone and a lightbox.

Best regards,

Ivo

Thanks!

I will link the video that really changed mini photography for me. Although she goes quite indepth, and I dont really do any post-photo processing. The parts about light and ISO/Shutter Speed are on point. Balancing my light with my ISO and Shutter speed is what made my pictures pop. https://youtu.be/Lu9DPnZcb8E

Hugo thanks! Yeah, I can try that but, I wanted to exhaust my other options before trying that. I fear that if I don't work the setting on my phone or the positioning of my object I might keep the same quality of pictures even though I have added work to it. It's also in my plans to learn how to paint but I still haven't managed time for that, in the meantime, my pile of shame will grow lol!

Awesome! Can't wait to do some OSL on the fire. On the photography topic, may I suggest zenithal priming the miniature with some matt primer before taking the shot?. I know it's more work, but it really makes the details pop, and reduces the light reflection from the plastic, thus making the miniature more readable.

My wife is a licensed photographer by the way so its a bit of a taboo that I use his 3DPrintingPro's guides for this - he just has a very specific combiniation of skills (not to sound like a Liam Neeson movie) ;)

Some times I find that I prefer a strong light almost from above and just a little light from the side because it gives more dramatic shadows - a bit different from what he suggests. ALSO: the surface of the minis mean a lot. The more matt you can clean them down to the better the pics look.

Thanks Niels! I will check him out, love his content about support and reviews.

Looks cool! Regarding the photography: Perhabs check out some of 3DPrintingPro's older videos out. Besides printing minis hes a photo geek as well. I learned a lot from him when setting up my stuff.
