Hello everyone!
Update April 21th
Today I have finished the model and made the splits, and right now I am ready to support. I wanted to make some kind of surprise and show the printed version but, could not hold myself lol.
Yesterday I started to pose the model and things got a bit more complicated because there are two models to pose and they should fit together, at the end of the day the pictures were not good enough so I hold back the WIP. But now it's finished and I can share what's coming.
The first picture is the finished model assembled, and the second picture added represents the cuts. I had to dig inside the Orc model to make a nice fit with the horse (going to test this out). If you wish for an Uncut version of the Orc, please let me know and I will add that file to the finished version.
Update April 19th
Yesterday I think the sculpting process had a nice flow. I made a test pose (on the left), posed War to something close to the final, and detailed Red a bit more.
I am almost done with the shapes, after I am done it will be time to damage all-metal armors on sculpture, Since I probably won't make 2 poses of this horse, I will probably place him on the final pose before adding battle damage.
The hardest part of this model will be splitting and making sure everything will be good together.
Update April 18th
I was supposed to share a development update yesterday, but I got carried away and could not stop blocking out the shapes. I have made the Shire Horse used as The Red Horse, I am still not happy with how the shapes look, so I will work a bit more on them before start detailing the model.
I have added a 32mm Human and War as a reference about size (I forgot to put the 50.8mm base, but it will fit there, no overhanging stone will be needed).
For the Horse I plan to do the same as the rider, with lots of layered metal plates, making it the heaviest of the four horses. The Armor will have lots of battle damage and bolts. On the Back part, I think a chain mail would be cool, while on the front I could use some ragged cloth.
Since I have added fire to War (and many parts of his armor also represent a furnace) I think that I will add a fire effect to the Horse on the hooves.
---End of Update---
Yesterday I finished War but when I went to the printer it did not turn on. When trying to start the printer I began to plug in and out the AC/DC adapter, I did this for a while without success then I could hear a sound and saw fire coming out of it. Today I searched the town for a new AC/DC adapter, the printer is working fine but there was a delay with the Print (It should be over in 2 hours, instead of this morning).
Anyway, while waiting I started to get info to start building War's Horse. In the Bible, it's referenced to the Red Horse, but the truth is that calling it only Red feels empty and without context, so I will call it Red War Horse, if anyone has a better name suggestion please feel free to leave it in the comments below.
My idea for this horse. It will be based on the Shire race, which is a big horse (there is a Picture with a human as a reference). For the Barding I am going with a full plate, with some cloth or Chain mail by the side, I will probably use both. I will also use Horns on the Barding as adornments. The Barding will be heavily damaged, similar to the Rider's armor, telling that it has seen so many battles. I will place it on a 50.8mm round base, made of stone and a liquid (that I envision as blood).
As I move along in the sculpting process I will keep this post updated.
Best regards,
Ivo
