Technical Issues

Update:

I'm a bit stubborn so I tried to plug in the Graphic Card again, and it worked! Maybe it's a case of moisture.

Just checked the backup files and It's all good where I left yesterday. But I still have to install every program again. For now, I will only focus on those necessary for work.

I won't turn off my PC maybe this will help to avoid further problems until I am ready or find a good deal for an upgrade.

Soon I will be updating the WIP post on the Ballista.

Thanks for the comprehension.

---End of update---

Hello everyone!

I woke up today and started the PC to work as usual, but sadly it did not turn on.

While trying to figure it out I pressed the reset buttons many times. I decided to take out the Graphic card, and the PC turned on, but thanks to my help I may have damaged windows so I had to restore the machine to factory settings.

Considering how old the PC is (2011 i7  DDR3 8GB) and since I use it to work, maybe it's time for an upgrade but, since PC components here in Brazil are expensive I will take my time to upgrade the PC, for now, I will just but a new Graphic card. I live in a city where these types of components are hard to find (when I do they are a lot more expensive), so I will buy them on the internet, and will take a while to get here.

Right now I am downloading my work files on my notebook from the cloud to see what I lost from yesterday's work and reinstalling software on my PC.

Even though not as fast as my PC I can work on my notebook, I will just take a bit more time to finish what I am doing because it will slow down as I increase the polycount on each sculpt.

I will try my best so that this problem does not impact the month's production.

Best regards,

Ivo

I was about to suggest to check the PSU. I have friends that had a similar problem to yours and it was the PSU in the end.

Yes, it's my graphic card. Since last year it's given me problems when I turn on the PC, sometimes one reset turns on. If I remove it, works fine. I plugged back in and worked without a problem. Maybe it has a boot problem. One of my friends believes that can also be a Power supply problem on the PC, I don't rule that out but I can't test this to really know.

Out of curiosity/ Were you able to find out what was the problem?

Feltyr

Thanks, Feltyr! Manage to do something about it.

Thanks, Earwaen! Totally, the biggest problem is when the hardware does not keep up with your work speed lol. In December I changed my HD for an SSD ow boy that improved a lot my saving time, from 2min per save to 30sec, this is not much time if you save only once but I save all the time lol, it was a huge win, and less flow breaking. Doing cloud backups is a must, I can work in any station if things go south, that's one of the reasons that I will take this moment and choose another antivirus, my latter was blocking one drive from initialization and I did not know how to turn that option off... so bye bye antivirus.

Thanks, Hardcleave! I would never sacrifice quality.

I am sorry to hear that. Don’t worry and take your time to fix the problem. Best of luck with that!

Feltyr

Don't let this stress you out. Take your time and keep on working in your own speed. We'll be here! And cloud backups are your friend!

That really sucks. Sorry for the troubles you're having but understand, I will still be here. Take your time, do what you need to do. Don't forsake the quality for speed. Love the figures. 😁
