Defenders of the Glade - Urza Fairbreeze (WIP)

Hello everyone!

Update February 10th

Finished the last Druid, but I haven't uploaded any picture hahaha, going to leave her as a surprise lol (from the 3, she is my favorite ^^).

Let's talk about something else... I have a problem (many actually). So far I have Bear claw, 2Hand ax, 2Hand Ax (Guitarpose), 2HandAx(with 1 Hand),2HandAx(Relaxed), 1Hand Ax, Shield and Glaive shield (It's the shield with moonglaive blades, or simply a ballista moonglaive that she decided to use as a shield), the thing is... these options are not enough... I will be spending a bit more time today to make more options, a staff (come on... a druid without a staff?), spell hand (druids cast spells right?), another claw (3 long blades just like wolverine, but not), pointing finger (one of those poses is really begging me to point down), thumbs down (or up, depending on how you glue)

After making those extra hand options I will finish the models, export, support, and test print, I want to place them on the printer later tonight.

About releases, I will make them all available on Google drive as soon as possible but will upload them on MMF on different days (so I can appear more frequently on new products more times).

Update February 9th

Almost finished Kerissa Autumnfire, the second female Druid or Barbarian Night Elf (Also realized that she can be a Survival or Beastmaster Hunter). Even though I placed an ax on her hand she can also wield the claws, I am doing each with a different weapon to help those that take their own screenshots.

While trying to find a pose for the one hand ax I accidentally ended with an Axe guitar pose... she is a natural rocker and suddenly the ending song came to my mind... Should I ship an Ax guitar pose?

Now I am working on the last female druid, Anadyia Bearrage. After I am done I will finish all models and hands, export the files, add supports, and test print everything. It does take a bit more to finish but I will deliver 3 at the same time. They have the same body type and armor pieces but I try to change a few things from each so that they don't look simply as reposes but I don't want to change too much or else they won't look from the same group/Outpost.

Update February 8th

Almost finished, I saw this Wolverine pose and I had to try. I was going to make her hand with 3 long claws but decided to go with a bear paw instead, the initial plan was to make it long and extend over her forearm but since this would be hard for a modular, I decided to make the cut in the hands.

Now I am working on the second option of design, instead of calling Druid A/B/C, Barbarian XYZ, I decided to give them names. The second will be Kerissa Autumnfire. To help those merchants that take their own renders I will make the Kerissa with a different weapon (She will be more Barbarian than Druid.

Modular hands from Sentinel should be compatible (will see once I print).

Update February 7th

Finished some of the armor pieces. removed the knee cap. As she is right now, I think that she is wearing too much fur (I kind of makes sense but I am not happy with it.

So I will make a side skirt instead of the fur one or maybe combine both to add a bit more options to the design.

Reusing some armor pieces into a male base mesh I can see now that I easily create a male version like AG does. I will open a poll about this.

I will now start the bear helmet.

Update February 6th

Started detailing from the foot and while at it I had an Idea, so I dropped and went for the gloves.

Her having modular hands is still possible, I made the arm bracers with more leather straps instead of Fur (as I was planning initially), This opens the possibility to leave the Hands modular.

I reused the belt buckle from Felenor, because thinking about the model there were few spaces to add "Night elf vibes". I still think of adding.

I Will add a bit more details to the legs and arms before I go to the Belt area.

Update February 5th

Today I started to block out proportions of the character and since I can't draw in 2d I make a few sketches of what it will be made in 3d.

About the body, once I made her smaller and bulkier it did not look that good, so I made her a bit bigger and larger than sentinel. I guess I could make her thicker but once I compared male/female bodybuilders it was clear to me that she won't be much larger without looking like a male, so I left like that, larger and bigger but not too much (exaggerated would make her toon style).

About armor, everything in light brown is made of fur(it will be tied to the body by leather straps), Dark brown Leather, light gray metal, and green cloth. On her back cape, there will be a bear head, and here we have our first variation, the Bear head becomes a helmet, extending the cape all over her back. There will be a Tabard and without a tabard option. The ax will probably have a smaller blade. To add more options to the fray I will add a round wooden shield and a one-handed ax.

SKU: since there are 2 poses, 4 body options (Tabard, without, helmet on/off). It's probably for the best split into 4 SKU, Pose 1 (Tabard+Helmet) Pose 1 (Leatherkini+Helmet) Pose 2 (Tabard+Helmet) Pose 2 (Leatherkini + Helmet). I will try to add a few variations so that she looks different each time (and you can make a set of Female druids or barbarians).

Modularity I want to make her modular to swap claw and Ax, because of the fur gloves the split will have to be on the arm not on the hands as usual.

---End of update---

Today I am starting Urza Fairbreeze, for now, I have nothing to show except my Pureref image collection and some ideas.

Initially, I thought of making a female version of Druid of the claw but since I want people to use this miniature in their 5e/Pathfinder campaigns I thought that to increase this chance I should make a Barbarian version of Her, that's why I included female Barbarians on the top of the screen.

For the body shape, I won't be using the classic female night Elf body. Druid of the claws are a bit larger compared to others, and I was planning to make her a bit closer to a bodybuilder, but, right now I am not so sure.  So I will be making her a bit smaller but larger and bulky but not that muscular (bears have lots of fat).

Pose: For now I am thinking of a Wolverine classic pose and a relaxed pose for the Barbarian version.

Weapons: Dual Bear claw and Two-handed

If you wish to change my mind, leave your ideas in the comments, there is still time.

Best regards,

Ivo

Lovely. I believe this is one of my favorite Night Elf druids now.

Diplomacy

Awesome!

Absolutely!

Kerissa is a Slayer! 🤘

Really like your ideas and direction here. Looking forward to the finished model.

Diplomacy

You could always do both (one saved for part 3 down the road). More variety will help people use the faction more fully

Even

Well, on Defenders of the Glade PT2, there is a Druid of the Tallon but I guess I could change that to a Druid of the claw

Yes! Would be even better!

Would love to see a male druid of the claw at some point too. They are such a cool character model and there aren’t any sculpts of them available as far as I know.

I love the idea of a female version of the classic broad shouldered Druid of the Claw from Warcraft 3! Should be fun :)

This is wonderful, I have a friend who wanted a Druid that reflected her character but most folks just make Darnassus Guards, healbots in dresses, and Shandris Feathermoon types.
