Hello everyone!
Update December 5th
Sculpted more details on the armor and the head. Added a blockout for the hair, I decided to change the hairstyle because after trying the long braids at the side it looked silly, instead I will do double braids like a famous Shaman...
While blocking the hair I realized that I had completely forgotten the helmet lol. After doing the Helmet I will probably go to posing before the last sculpting phase.
I have decided what Ten Storms will have
Update December 4th
Blockout of major shapes for the Storms armor and sculpted the wolf head for the shoulder. Since the shoulder is supposed to be a metal piece I decided to leave the Wolf head with some sharp corners and flat surfaces.
For the orc I think I will go with 2 long braids and long hair, I will try to leave the Braids and Hair separate objects so you can remove them if you wish. The shoulder will also be a removable object. Since I don't have any different Ideas from the request I won't be adding variation to this model. But I will add different hand options.
Update December 3rd
Almost there! Posed the body and did some smaller details. Sculpted the optional head.
Added 3 pictures (3 angles, optional head, and gray models).
I will print both versions for me but the main with shoulder pad and the variant without shoulder pads (I will share my model and my support on googledrive), I will do like that to try to create the illusion of 2 different models.
The weapon in the images is the block of Quel'sarrar, comparing to the original I reduced a bit from length and width to make a more proportional blade.
I will finish the weapons and create the STL files. I will test print along with the Orc but I will distribute the files on Early access for those that are curious about the model or wish to test print before anyone else.
Update December 2nd
I have added a bit more detail to the armor and made the shoulder pads. I changed a bit the design so that that the Pommel could be in touch with the shoulder to create a more sturdy print.
In the original, there are some golden/paper coming out of the armor (Purity seals), I have block out some of those but I will probably change to only paper, no gold. I mean, if it's gold it's metal and certainly will be hard, changing to paper/cloth can sort of give a feeling of flow.
Update December 1st
I started to do some test poses to have an idea how it would look like at the end. For the Orc it was hard to make him fit on a 25.4mm base, I went for a striking pose. For the Human, I chose a pose like he was raising his sword and getting the blessings of the light.
After deciding the pose I went to block the Judgment armor, it is a bit tricky because the low res model sometimes makes no sense, where it makes sense I will take from the original but where I don't think cool or makes no sense I will change. I tried to find a good cosplayer that solved this problem but... it was a waste of time, I will rely more on my feelings than a reference for this. The Headpiece according to the original I believe it was a mask but I went for a bucket helmet type (It won't be much different).
Shoulders will be complicated to keep the original design because of the sword, having a sword hand (Pummel I believe it's the correct name) hanging will probably result in a frail piece of armor, I will see if I can support the sword with the shoulder main structure.
I know that this was not in the request but, I want to add a version without the helmet. Modular hands and a holy symbol as an option (For a classic dnd paladin/cleric).
--- End of update ---
Yesterday I started to gather information to make this sculpt and today started the blockout of the model's proportions, it's still very early but I think it's possible to see a bit of how it will look. Both models stand on a 25.4mm round base.
Normally Orcs are hunched over, to sculpt and define proportions I brought him to a more straight position, for the final pose I will bend him a little but not too much like game models.
I will proceed to do both body proportions, and then once I am happy and define a pose for them, I will sculpt one than the other (I won't do both at the same time, it would just be messy). Leave your favorite in the comments it might help me decide which make first.
I will update this post as I move along with the desing.
Best regards,
Ivo
