Metabolic Crash
Added 2023-09-12 23:35:36 +0000 UTCIvan was getting older and he couldn't stop it. His beard was turning white, face aging, but the one thing he always felt he had control over was his body. He stayed in the gym, making sure to keep it in peak condition. He was proud of it, seeing his toned muscle, his shirts still fitting well. At least, until his metabolism crashed.
It happens to every man around this age, their system no longer able to use all their energy. Ivan didn't notice it at first, only feeling tired in the gym more quickly than usual. Then he saw his body changing. He began to notice his muscles fading from his figure and replaced with smooth fat, his chest becoming looser over his gut that slowly pushed out from him.
Ivan thought it was just due to his lack of exercise in the gym, thinking he'd just be able to put more time in to fix it. He didn't realize it was his body fighting against him, growing weaker, unable to recover or metabolize energy. He kept eating the same amount of calories and protein, thinking it would all process. It didn't take long for him to be proven wrong.
He felt helpless watching his stomach keep growing, his body weakening and growing fatter. His cut tees only emphasized his new mass, his belly on prominent display hanging out of all his shirts. It wasn't long before his pecs and gut were rolling down on his body, his muscles turned into useless lard. He had no option other than to accept the dad bod he saw every day in the mirror, only able to wish back to when it was muscle as he kept growing.
