Ulysses felt nervous heading up to his Boss's office for his monthly review. It hadn't been going on for long, but that's not what made him worry. When he thought back to the meetings he had before, he realized he couldn't even remember what they had been about. It was like they'd slipped out of his memory, completely forgetting what happened in them. He hoped his boss wouldn't ask about them.
He'd been doing alright he thought, but something put him on edge. At times he felt all he could do was focus on work, but at the same time felt he was barely getting anything done. He was constantly stuck in his chair on the computer, without the drive to get out and do anything active. It only allowed calories to pack into his body, not to mention the stress eating.
He'd randomly zone out, only to find himself with an empty bag of chips or fast food just absentmindedly eating away. It would even happen at home when he was thinking about work, finding himself munching away on whatever snacks were there. He could never remember ever getting up to get it, just suddenly finding himself gorging on food non-stop.
His body had changed drastically over the short period of time. He'd put 40 lbs on already, the scale closing in on 50. He'd grown too lazy to even go and get new clothes, the shirts he wore for work growing tighter and tighter each day. His fattened chest looked like growing tits under the fabric, even his belly occasionally making an appearance between the buttons.
In the week leading up to the review, his boss had stopped at Ulysses' desk, complimenting him with their hands on his shoulders. He'd always make a short compliment, something along the lines of "You've been making good progress, I'll see you at our next review" before heading away. Ulysses had the sinking suspicion that his boss wasn't talking about work.
Ulysses stepped into the office, his boss looking up from over his computer.
"Yes our meeting, come in" His Boss said, directing Ulysses to the chair. "Ready for your growth review? You've been looking bigger and better pig." He continued, stepping out from behind his desk.
"Yes sir" Ulysses responded without thinking, settling back into the chair, unaware of the trigger words just said. As soon as he leaned back his eyes lost focus, staring into the distance as his body relaxed. His eyes had glazed over, mind disappeared as his boss approached, admiring his growing work.
