Pat wondered why his computer always needed to update when he arrived. He'd stare at the screen, zoning out while it updated, an hour passing by the time it was finally ready. He didn't know how long this had been going on, having forgotten when it started. His memory didn't seem to be as good as it used to be either.
He could never remember having grown out his beard, noticing it everytime he looked in the mirror the first time for the morning. He didn't know why he'd grown it out, deciding to himself to shave it off. Something would tell him put it off til tomorrow. He wouldn't question it, knowing he'd just forget the next day.
He'd forgotten to do laundry as well, having to use the first shirt and pants at the top of his basket. It almost seemed like they hadn't been washed for over a week strangely, but he had no choice. He'd arrived at the office when he realized he didn't even shower. The smell of his body surrounded him for the rest of the day, distracting him from his work, his head spinning from the fumes.
An hour before the end of the day a notification from his calendar pooped up, reminding him of a daily meeting with his boss. Pat stood heading up to the office without question. He'd wonder what it was about, not noticing his arms moving to unbutton his shirt while his eyes glazed over, ready to be a good employee.
