If it wasn't for his Mom, Kato would have been working his family's farm every day as he grew up. His Mom had imagined a better life than living his entirety on their land, pushing him to go to school and eventually get a degree. He was prohibited from working on the farm during the weekdays, focusing on his grades.
Kate couldn't be happier. He was glad to go to school instead, never needing to wake up as early as his Dad did to work the land. He hated the weekends though. His Dad would wake him up, forcing him to spend time together out on the fields. Dad was a huge cuddly fellow. He always went on about how everything used to be manual, that he had been a young muscled stud from working the fields every day. Now that they had machines to do everything, he could just relax, eat, and reap their lands.
Kato didn't really appreciate that time until later in his studies, the school forcing him to wake up earlier and earlier. Subjects got harder, and soon enough, he found his weekends a break from the mental stress. He began to love the time spent working the fields, away from grades and tests, able to bond with his Dad over the work. He managed to get to know the farm and its needs if one day he ever needed to take over. Soon enough he was jealous of his father, getting to spend all day outdoors working, rather than inside bent over paper.
Kato managed to get into state college, but that lasted until his mother's health took a turn for the worse. He knew his place was at home. He headed back from his studies, taking over while his Dad cared for his Mom. Working the farm came easy like he'd been doing it all his life. Everything was running smoothly, remembering what his Dad taught him, spending all day on his ass working the equipment before coming home for dinner. He got to bond more with his Dad over food and the land, and that's when Kato started to gain weight.
It didn't take long until Kato became an image of his Dad, even managing to share clothes. Kato went out in the jeans and suspenders he'd seen his father wear many times before, his belly hanging out over his waistline suspended in the already stretched fabric. The clothes still even held his Father's smell. The shoulders and arms didn't fit completely, but that didn't matter, his stomach filling the space in easily.
Kato kept catching himself in the mirror, thinking he was his Dad. Somehow, it was reassuring, like he'd found his place. Kato had quickly grown comfortable with his new home life, eating and growing, becoming the large man he was always meant to be. All his worries about his studies had been laid to rest, and he was living a happy simple life.
