Unable to eat, they keep trim to prevent slipping out. It's a constant hassle, sinching it tighter to stop the jeans from riding down from their rear. Once they try suspenders though, they can never go back.
The straps over the shoulders keep their pants at the right height. They no longer have to deal with the buckle cutting into their midriff, no restriction to filling their stomachs. They can finally relax, able to eat, not caring how big they grow. Slowly their bodies began to fill out, their stomachs growing rounder and larger as the suspenders hold their trousers up, their bellies spilling into the available space.
It's not long before they start to notice their clothes are too tight. Their wardrobe is no longer so big it can't stay on, but instead their bodies are. Their guts become too large for their old clothes to fit, forcing their jeans down their wide ass with their stomachs falling out from under their shirts. The suspenders aren't just fighting against the weight of the pants now, but the fat broadening their waistlines.
Soon they can't fit into their work shirts, forced to expose their increased weight and massive bodies with nothing else to wear. They walk around half naked, their bodies spilling everywhere, bellies openly jiggling from every movement. They're stuck waiting for new clothes to come in, stuffing their bodies with no control. No doubt, their new outfits won't fit once they arrive.
