Filling the Jersey

Once they graduate, however, is when they realize their jerseys don't fit right without the pads. The shirts hang loosely over their bodies hiding any muscle tone they have. They quickly feel self-conscious, feeling the need to bulk up to fill the jersey again.
That’s when they start to eat more. They begin to chub up, their bodies filling out as they consume more and more food. Their muscles are replaced with fat, their bodies slowly filling out the jersey until it's stretched around their bodies. Their pecs swell out, constantly pressing against the shirt. Their abs are gone and replaced with a chubby belly, a spare tire shaking losely around their waist. It's not long before the jersey is stretched to its limit, the fabric barely able to contain their new body.
When they look in the mirror and can’t help but smile, feeling proud to fit into the jersey once again. They reminisce over their college days, remembering being the fit studs in uniform, unable to see the way they've turned into fat exjocks. They love the stares they get, feeling like an athlete strutting around the field again, unable to comprehend the different reason for the stares now that they've grown out of their shirts. They've become fat, and they love every minute of it.
