TV Dad
Added 2023-04-13 22:29:08 +0000 UTCWhen Dad got a new TV, something seemed to change in him. He had always tried to keep active and healthy, but now he seemed possessed. I'd find him always sitting in front of it when he was home, eyes distant as he stared at the screen. It was like he was in a trance, his mind growing more and more vacant as he settled into the chair.
He slowly let himself go, his muscles melting away as his body filled out with fat. His belly grew bigger, round and soft, the waistband of his pants struggling to contain it. His arms became pudgy, his face filling out with chubby cheeks. His body continued to expand until he had become a blob, too large to get out of the chair and too lazy to try.
He outgrew all his clothes, not bothering to get new ones. He'd just sit in the chair naked, a thick blanket of fur growing out of his body, covering him like a cocoon. He had become a bear, his belly a large growing blob pushing out to cover his lap as he just sat there watching the TV.
I'd wake up in the morning to find him still in the same spot, the same vacant stare in his eyes, the same glazed over look of contentment on his face. This had become his life, the only way he spent his free time. I didn't know what happened to him, but I knew he was happy.
