I watched it when it first released but its hazy in my memory i might just re react to it

Yeob

You should watch game caterers with Starship Idols and actors.

Nick Fawwaz

scrolling through the asianwiki and I can see your voice was one of my starter drama and it looks like she has a big role in there lol. As for the rest I havent seen

Yeob

hmmm okay ty for the info. I think what they do in the day to day will help me understand more

Yeob

Yeah, I work in insurance as well and I have no idea how it could be profitable. I mean, I guess since Korea has a lower divorce rate compared to the US (something like 1.8 per 1000 vs 2.4 per 1000 in the US) but even then, you POSSIBLY could sign up enough successful marriages but divorces are EXTREMELY costly (not like replacing a car bumper) and alimony just goes on and on. It'd definitely be at healthcare levels of cost which no individual or couple can afford without employer help The netflix example you gave isn't quite right bc netflix never has to pay out anything to their subscribers....its technically a 2 party system (products developed, products sold) where as insurance is a 3 party system (products developed, products, sold, products paid for)

Edward Lee

both Lee Da Hee and Kwangsoo started off as models (obvi bc of both of their heights. I think she's like 5'9-5'10) but Lee Da Hee actually wasn't in it for that long. She was IMMEDIATELY plucked out and put in dramas usually as the evil mistress or evil support character at first. Surprised this is the first drama you've watched with her. She's been acting in dramas for 20+ years

Edward Lee

so yeah....the terms are super technical. The Actuary is the one who sets the policy/rules (so setting the 5 years in your example). The underwriter basically sees if an individual qualifies for those particular set of rules once they're set....sort of 2 sides of the same coin. They both use actuarial sciences to assess risk but one just goes outside/in versus the underwriter who goes inside/out Quants are very different animals (but still use similar mathematical models and actuary sciences)....they tend to be more in the finance sector and use modeling WAY WAY WAY more. lol, the writers kind of jammed together actual jobs from different industries to make this story work but whatevers

Edward Lee

I was also surprised at the character Kwangsoo is playing. Definitely not typecast this time. I assume that Lee Dahee's smile at the end was showing that she is the actual smiling nutcase. Divorce insurance actually does sound like a good idea to have but I have no idea how it could possibly be profitable. In order for the company to profit either they'd have to insure way more couples that stay together than actually get divorced or charge a premium so high that you're almost paying alimony from the start but to the insurance company. Maybe they could try and package it with some other type of extremely profitable insurance to offset the risk. I work at an insurance company and even I haven't ever heard of a quant. With all of the starship actors I'm shocked that Kwangsoo wasn't drinking a pepsi from the vending machine. Overall I thought it was very funny. Thank you for reacting to it!
