Growing Little Trees (Part 1)

Time for something completely different.  Bob Ross always told us to paint happy little trees, but today we are going to join me on a journey and grow some happy little trees.

Not being a chia pet growing, having never done it before, I happened to be at the right place at the right time.  The garden lady at one of the local hardware stores always likes me and gives me big discounts on stuff.  She offered me a Chia Pet.  They had two left and I said, "sure what the heck.  How much?"  Well she crossed off the overpriced $20 tag and gave it to me for a dollar.  Of course of the two left, I had to choose Bob Ross over Jack Skellington.  No offense Mr. Skellington, but no one brings the world at ease quite like Mr. Ross and his poofy hair.

So I took the box home and way-to-excitedly opened the box.  You can enjoy the silly attachments below for all those exciting pictures.  I read through the instructions then pulled out the chia seeds, a watering tray, and low and behold, the bust of Mr. Bob Ross himself.

The instructions tell me to hold his terra-cotta head under water for 30 minutes.  Done.  While that is going on I prepare the chia seeds.  A small amount with a bit of water. Done.

After a half an hour passes I then get to put the chia seeds on his big glorious head.  Should be no issue right?  Oh it's an issue.  The seeds keep sliding off instead of sticking to his head. I mess with this for about an hour and still most of his head is seedless.  I read the instructions for help, but decide their troubleshooting stinks.  Instead I wait a day for my chia seed mixture to get "stickier" and then apply more seeds to his dome over the course of two days.  Finally I can happily say his head is fully covered in seeds and I have more than half a pack of seeds left for continued cha-cha-chia related fun.  I throw some random seeds into a container of soil just to see if anything will grow.

Stay tuned because in the next update, I will document my watering/misting habits and together we can watch if anything sprouts from Mr. Ross's head.  This should be real entertaining and ridiculous!

It does!

The last one looks like poppy seed bagels

Bob Ross definitely strikes me as one of the most appropriate people to have as a Chia Pet. Once things start growing it should look great!

It's up to you if you wanna spend full price or find one on the cheap. I just started, so I don't know how it will turn out. So far I found it fun.

They have a Deadpool one........should I?

UPDATE: Sorry I haven't had much time to prepare the next list of free video games on Steam. I will get that done in a way that everyone can get more games for free at the start of next month most likely.
