She could take advantage of Spike and try to get him into her camp, or she could be the good friend/family member and try to provide help with advice or help him. She made a choice and she clearly made a statement you may have picked up upon. Within her wording, she made her feelings clear. Many people noticed.
Spike's argument with Lily was never shown, and that was done on purpose. I noticed several people where upset about that, but it was a deliberate decision as we felt it would take away from the TRUE message of this episode. It was more about Starlight's growth than anything. Really Spike and Lily's argument would just distract from that.
