How Did You Become Best Friends?

My best friend is someone I became friends with in elementary school.  It started because they gave me their chocolate milk and we sat and talked during lunch.  Another best friend of mine became a bestie because the teacher moved me to sit with them during science class and we became best friends in Freshman year of high school.  My latest best friend was someone that I knew in High School but we sort of just said "hey" to each others once in awhile.  Somehow after high school we became friends and now we are super close friends.

Why am I telling you all this?  Actually... I'm not quite sure.  But it probably has something to do with today's question.  How did you become friend's with some of your friends?  They all are unique stories and I would love to hear some!

Also, I suck at friendship in general.

You know, I don't really have any best friends. I used to, but I lost contact with them. Mainly due to us moving around so much.

I met my best friend on the first day of high school because we were next to each other in a class (I forget whether the seats were assigned or picked arbitrarily on the first day and henceforth fixed). It was a stupid class, actually, but it was a requirement. Also, we had fencing together, which I'm pretty sure I figured out within the first week (I never claimed to be good with faces). In any case, we have personalities that are in many ways similar, so we ended up clicking and becoming close friends, to the point that everybody shipped us for at least the last two years of high school. (Even many members of our friend group tended to be unclear on whether we were currently or had previously been dating.) And I tend to give the shippers a lot of flack, but I can't say they were entirely wrong; there was some of that sort of chemistry, but it ran in one direction only and I didn't find out about it until the end of senior year. And they did ultimately drive us to the next level of friendship; when we finally gave in to their worldview for a summer our "dating" may have been a total farce (turns out orientations isn't something we have in common), but it did bring us even closer together and now I simply cannot imagine living in a world where we stayed at the level of friendship we were at in high school. So the moral of the story is that sometimes shippers accidentally are actually helpful.

Spinning Stories. I made two really lose friends thanks to MLP, and we bonded through narratives we told each other, basically doing free form Role Plays, story telling for each other and creating very cool narratives.

Welp, met mine mostly from school and played halo 3 after, we still play games in Person or online! Thought not so often anymore.

I have two best friends. The first I met on the first day of first grade, and we've been best friends ever since! I was best man in his wedding, and work with him now. We've been through thick and thin for over two decades now, and I don't see that changing any time soon. My other best friend I met at a job in college. She actually thought I was a weirdo jerk when she first met me, but as we worked together we discovered that we were very complementary for each other. What my personality has, she doesn't, and vice-versa. We've been on long trips together, and I'm even tattooed on her! And although she lives a good two hours away, we still text nearly every day. By and large, I'm a very lucky man to have the friends I do!
