In the LAST post, we mentioned this episode went through some of the biggest changes in recent memory for an episode to go through. And truly... it changed completely. While there were positives to the old idea... we hope this one turned out better.
The biggest change is well... everything. The whole premise, how things are worded, and what happens is completely different. Cheerilee's character is completely replaced with Daisy's (first time appearing completing the Flower Sisters in Adorkable). We had a lot of discussion because it was nice showing that Cheerilee was still dating people in the background without the viewer seeing it, and we wanted it to lead into another episode with her, but we felt instead we needed to focus on Rarity and Coco. (But what a cool transitions practically no one will ever know about except you guys!) Daisy was ultimately chosen because we felt that Cheerilee wouldn't be "dumb" enough to by nothing... not saying Daisy is... but she has NO backstory in our universe so she is easier to play dumb for the plot of this episode. There was also talk of using Derpy...
We also through Twilight in... because she is going to have to be useful and build some character in this arc as well. She might actually have to.... GASP... do Princess of Friendship stuff and do what's right! Rarity will also have some realizations down the road as well. She isn't just greedy and trying to get rich... which is why we actually had her answer Coco's questions in this version. She has a legit reason, whether she means it or not, there is a legit reason!
We have Coco struggling between working to actually help others be beautiful... or just sell for profit. She can't figure out how someone can turn away a beautiful designed piece of clothing for just false imagery. (Hehe... beautiful dress we made... right? Clearly not fashion designers).
We added some of Rarity's rambunctious behavior too that has been lacking as of late, so we including her slapping Coco's rump. Rarity has slapped a few other's in the Adorkable verse, so it is on character.
All in all, we're pretty happy with it. :) Hope you enjoyed this little write up and sharing session. What are your thoughts? How do you like this compared to the rough draft version we had before it? Is this better, worse, or about the same? Share away! We can do more stuff like this in the future. :)
