I have faaaaaar more models than I will probably ever build! I love military models (tanks, planes, and the like), but I love civilian pleasure boats. I've got a 1/72 scale Predator 108 that I'm going to trick out with lights, motor, and as much detail as I can cram into it, and a 1/400 scale AIDA cruise ship I'm going to do the same to. And I think we may have made the same Jeep Wrangler, because mine was bright yellow with silly 90's style graphics on the side too!

Yeah unfortunately Subaru was still kinda in "literally who" status then in the US, they were weird cars for weird people until the Outback came out and brought them more into the public eye. For perspective, Toyota sold almost 3 times as many Camrys that in 1998 as Subaru sold total cars. 427k vs 147k.

Oh you mentioned the SVX. :) I love that car. It's so unique. Look at this beauty. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ajmstudios/48101347828/in/album-72157669141536637/ Anyways yeah, in the mid to late 90s, most Japanese cars were in the 140hp-180hp range. American cars were about the same to 200 range. But there were some good sleepers out there as well. It's a shame how the SVX was so ignored by the public. But I realize it was very expensive. Subaru was moving away from boxes like the Leone and Loyale and the Legacy started dominating their lineup. It's crazy to think that Subaru was selling the very last Brat's at the same time they sold the first SVX.

Yeah, unfortunately Subaru wasn't doing too hot in the 90s in the US so while it has the turbo subaru look, it's saddled with the naturally aspirated 2.5 and only 170hp. They put some cash into making it handle with a limited slip rear diff, low profile tires for the time, and a tight steering rack ratio, but the twin turbo versions they sold in Japan just would have been too expensive to sell very many here, and they already had the SVX bleeding money. I definitely plan to swap it with the EJ205 out of an 02 WRX, but for now while I save up I've just been doing other stuff like I listed before.

Wow! That is really cool! I've never done a dive before, just some silly snorkeling at a coral reef. That would be super interesting to check out some of those old shipwrecks, especially that German destroyer. I can only imagine some of the neat things you must find underwater. It's a whole different world down there. What an awesome hobby, Guttatus.

I was not expecting that honestly. I thought you were going to say the opposite. Quick at a light, not as good on twisties. lol! That's awesome though! Not too many people realize that a good handling car can be as good or better than a car with sheer power. I am an avid motorist myself. So that's awesome you do all this with you car (always legally of course. ;) )

I like Age of Empires II and the first game as well. I play it sometimes. :) As for this Odriod computer, does it work as a computer? I am not super technical, but I know people can do amazing things with some of the things you mentioned. It is also great to see something progress when you work on it.

Oh it handles like a dream, it just drinks up corners and has all the grip in the world. It's not really that fast in a straight line, but in a low traction situation it can't be beat. I raced my brother's 05 GTO at a light when it was barely damp and he couldn't hook up until 3rd gear, didn't catch me until about 55 mph.

Wow, you seriously like what I like. Gumball is great in my opinion and TTG... while not my fav, doesn't deserve the negative attention it gets... well sometimes it deserves it. But you can't compare it to the original TT. It's not the same kind of show and that is what too many people did. I love Bob's Burgers. One of my personal favs and I am glad you like the classics as well. I hope they are kept safe for future generations.

Very awesome! Thanks for sharing so much! It seems like a project that will never be complete, but it is always improving at least. :) I also bet it can take on a good amount of vehicles from a red light. How does she handle on the twists?

Thanks I'm always thinking of new designs and try to do what hasn't been done before :) as for cartoons Gumball on CN is good and Teen Titans Go then there's Simpsons and Bobs Burgers for the more Adult comedy and for older stuff Animaniacs and Hanna Barbara's Laugh Olympics is great I pretty much seems cartoons from the 30s till today and I'm left wondering what cartoons if they exist still will be like in say the year 2100 or later :)

And picture of the odroid computer https://imgur.com/a/CGGQSzr

These days i flip flop between learning competitive Age og Empires 2 and programming things, once I'm home from work. I got this Odroid HC2 recently, think raspberry pi style computer, but able to take a full harddrive. Perfect for a network drive! I have my own ideas of usage though, so I decided to make the whole software for it myself, rather than downloading something premade. It's a bit of a challenge, making it in C++ exclusively for Linux, but fun seeing and feeling the progress!

Nah, those are the 02 WRX seats. The original seats were the greenish grey cloth pattern that you can still see on the door panels and had no bolstering at all, might as well have been bench seats. The WRX seats are a billion times better.

subaruanon

Thanks for sharing the pics! Are those stock seats? I don't remember Legacy seats too well, but they aren't how I remember. I drove a Legacy wagon on a 12 hour one day road trip once... worst journey ever. Everything went wrong, lol. It wasn't the car's fault... just everything else caused the problems. Road closures with no warning causing us to drive an hour back, snow blocking the roadway with no warning again the road was closed..., then a rock cracked the windshield when we almost reached the destination!!! The makings of wonderful memories, lol.

Awww, I hope you don't feel it's terribad out there. Certainly there is some good. :) Do you have any cartoons you would recommend checking out?

That's very cool! It also keeps you creative but also allows you to think technically.... like an engineer!

That is awesome! What kind of models do you like making? Do you have a collection of models? I remember my first model I made with my Dad. We made an overly complicated battleship that confused us both, lol! We also made a Jeep Wrangler and it had some silly 90's style graphics along the side. :) I think we made a 60's Charger as well.

I love making model kits! I picked up the hobby when I was younger and would make them with my Dad. I still have the old Corsair and Jeep Wrangler we made together on my shelf. It's a great way for me to get creative, and it's gotten me a few friends, too!

For me cartoons are good escape from this terribad reality were living in

I do daily it, yes. The list gets long once you've tinkered with a car for 6 and a half years. Here's some more pics. The Pilot rear wiper definitely helps modernize it a bit over the stock metal arms that rust. https://imgur.com/a/2Cl8PZV

subaruanon

Yep i design some using bits and modifying bits already made then try to get whats in my minds eye onto the digital canvas :)

Nathan Kaiser

Oh woah! That is like a small novel of modifications! Sounds like a true labor of love. You got a lot of stuff from other Subie's in there, though I did noticed the Dodge SRT-4 coil pack and Honda Pilot rear wiper. ;-) You've done a ton of life improvements as well based on what I can see. Do you daily drive this car?

Thanks! No cold air intake, old Subarus have a special intake designed to eliminate an oscillation in the MAF sensor at ~1800 rpm that makes it run pig rich. A short list of things I've done would be- UEL header and Tsudo high flow cat 02 WRX seats all around, with seat heater kits wired to OEM switches 05 Legacy GT wheels and front brakes, with 225/45r17 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s 03 Outback H6 rear brakes Raceland coilovers Hella horns 35% tint on the front two windows, 20% rears JDM front bumper, grille, fog lights, headlights, sidemarkers, and power folding mirrors First gen Honda Pilot rear wiper arm Infiniti I30 auto dimming mirror 96 short ram intake hose MSD SRT4 coil pack MLS headgaskets and the heads milled down some to marginally increase compression Paranoid Fabrications Big 3 and grounding kits Whiteline alloy sway bar end links 18mm Outback rear sway bar JDM Cusco front strut tower brace Whiteline rear strut tower brace Pioneer Bluetooth radio with 4 Kenwood drop in speakers and the OEM underseat sub and door tweeters And most importantly, a sticker shaped like a bone that says "I ♥️ my boxer". Next thing I want is the JDM smoked tail lights, and to swap out the coilovers for 04 STi KYB AGX struts, STi pink springs, and STi aluminum front control arms.

Also cartoons. Welcome to the club! I like cartoons too. :)

Very neat, I was perusing through some of what you have done on MS Paint and I see it directly ties to what you collect. So please, enlighten me a big, I know next to nothing about Star Trek. I see all these massively cool ships. So do you design those? I see they say you design them, but I'm just ultra curious. What do you think is a necessity or a design motif you have in your designs.

Hot dang! Legacy wagon, the good design era! So what are some things you've done? I'm expecting maybe a cold air intake, mufflers, did you do stuff to the engine? Liking the rims. :)

I collect stuff as seen here: https://www.deviantart.com/kaisernathan1701/art/What-I-collect-for-fun-704255540 and I do stuff in MSPaint when i can which isnt much these days feel free to browse the gallery :) https://www.deviantart.com/kaisernathan1701/gallery/?catpath=/ and I play Pokemon on 3DS casually i dont do tournys or really get into beefing up my Pokemon. I also watch alot of Youtube and cartoons on tv :)

Nathan Kaiser

>really proud of your car Yes that one. I've done more stuff to it than I could list in one comment. https://i.imgur.com/dxSeJlR.jpg
