Friday's Alternative Comic

So yes, the episode, "Authority" originally had this as the ending! Okay, so we thought it was funny but would you have found this more funny? Clearly the writer was thinking of some political issues going on. Part of the reason we didn't include this though was because we avoid real world politics in Adorkable Twilight. It's supposed to be a place free of the outside and allows the reader to be consumed in the world of Adorkable. Instead we rip your heart out with love triangles and deep seeded depression and loneliness. :) You know, good family fun.

Which comic version do you prefer? (We're going to totally try and use this joke at another time though)

I don't think it would offend Trump supporters; I just don't know if they'd find it funny. Anyway, I'm not under any commitment to avoid ruffling feathers, so I can point out the objective fact that Trump lost the popular vote, so presumably if you did upset viewers it would still be less than 50% of them. (Plus, your viewers presumably skew young and the young skew Democratic, plus it's well-known that a non-negligible fraction of the population hated both Trump and Clinton and would surely not be offended even if they did decide in 2016 that they hated Trump less . . . )

And that's it, we never want to step on or push away any part of our community. It would possibly upset 50% of viewers or more (or maybe they'd laugh too). That is not only bad business practice, but again, we don't want to get political ever. Still I found the idea fun and wanted to share it with you all. You're a good group of people who wouldn't get mad. Adorkable Twilight is pretty centrist as it is never really having to choose one side or the other for anything. That in mind though, I have had someone send me an email and they tried to determine which political party several of the main characters were in Adorkable Twilight. It was actually pretty interesting and they cited material from the series. This was about a year ago.

Yeah it isn't overly political. It's sort of become humorous to say things like that in our day and age. Thank you.

Thank you for input!

I did chuckle, but I do expect that it would be less likely to get a laugh from somebody who is pro-Trump.

Also, it maybe be mildly political, but it's in no way controversial or politically charged. I think it's a hoot.

maybe if she were holding a pamphlet about lawn maintenance through grazing...

Yeah, it's a good joke but I think you were absolutely right not to use it.
