Discord Discourse

You guys as well as many others have said I need a Discord...  Please, enlighten me.  What would a Discord do and how would it benefit you/me?  I would love to know more than just what their site tells me.  Many of you have used Discord, please tell me some of the ins and outs and neato functions it has and what it's purpose could be for us.  Because I hope people realize, I can't be on it 24/7 if that's what they want.

Would you actually want an Adorkable Discord or would you be too busy on your many other Discords?  Tell me.  I will listen.  I will think.  We will think.  Something might happen.

All extremely useful as well! Thank you! I love unruly mobs! (no i don't). This will be fun. I am thinking a public for people and a reserved channel for you intellectual Patreon Pals. There you can have fine teas and stackable finger foods in peace. :) You guys would also be talked too more probably.

Thank you for the information. Hmmm, check your Tumblr notifications, you should be getting them every Mon, Wed, and Fri. Otherwise you might be subscribed to two bajillion people too many. ;-)

Very informative and very helpful. I thank you for the detailed account. I will be looking more into it this weekend for sure.

Thank you for the offer! I will look into more this weekend. If a Discord is going to go up, there will be a period where it is JUST with the people here on Patreon so we can all get to be buddy buddies. :) Then it will go public for all the others... or maybe they will have their own channel to scream in.

Hi! I do not run a Discord server but visit a few of them. If you are familiar with an IRC room, it is basically that. Only that in Discord the channel is subdivided into themed/topical subchats (i.e. general discussion, commissions, off-topic, latest content, show spoilers). You can create subchats with access exclusively for patrons. The Discord server/room access can be as public or restricted as you set it up to be (invitation only). There is no obligation for you to be present at all time. You can assign moderator roles to trusted users to keep an eye on the unruly mob :). Discord also offers voice chat which comes in handy for communal gaming sessions. Among others I visit the EQD server (<a href="https://www.equestriadaily.com/2017/02/eqd-discord-server-open-now-for-masses.html)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.equestriadaily.com/2017/02/eqd-discord-server-open-now-for-masses.html)</a> and FimFiction server (<a href="https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/705995/fimfiction-discord-server)." rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/705995/fimfiction-discord-server).</a>

Discord is a special socialisation app that can not only allow you to socialize and make friends with your followers but also give them exclusive updates and other stuff about your login your whole situation which is a bit easier than relying on Tumblr since we don't get notified or at least some of us don't get notified when there's an update you could prove very useful in both a social and even Financial

Hello! I've run a Discord server before, and so I'm familiar with how the process works. The gist of it is that a Discord server is essentially a collection of chatrooms (text and voice channels) where people can talk with others about a common interest. It's a very popular thing for people that produce content online to do, because it gives them a chance to build a community around themselves and to be more involved with what their audience thinks. You can assign roles and directly link it to Patreon, or you can open it to the public and let anyone join. One can download its desktop app and occasionally open it up to type to other people; you'd be under no obligation to always be online. You could just pop in as you do on Patreon and start discussions with whoever is around. It's a great experience, particularly if the server is not too large, and it's a fantastic means for making new friends and working with your community.

If anything, I can help you understand how to run a server as I own and run one and have for almost 2 years. Then again, my server has NSFW stuff in it but that shouldn't matter. I say you and I discuss the prospects of Discord stuff over Discord itself.
