Here is to hoping this year starts better than 2021 ended!
I’m just getting over a bout of Covid-19 and my second ruined Christmas vacation since I’ve had a job that gives me vacations.
The good news is I’m faring much better than I did when I had this two Christmases ago (pre-vaccine). We didn’t yet know what Covid was, but I was sicker than I had ever been in my life, and once it was over, I lost my taste for 3 months. Compared to that experience, this is nothing.
I was also able to book an impromptu vacation to NOLA in place of the Dead & Company concert vacation in Mexico I was forced to cancel.
I still had a very joyful Christmas and got to see my family in early December before I got sick. More good news: two of my three siblings caught Covid as well and were fine, but the two people I was most worried about, my mom and sister (both immunocompromised) seem to be totally immune. (They both have O negative blood, so maybe there really is something to that theory?)
Despite a year full of disappointments outside of my control, I am truly grateful for all I have:
- stable employment & health benefits
- my health & the health of my loved ones
- a strong, healthy relationship
- a home of my own
- a snuggly cat
- sobriety
- music
I hope you’re able to find the little silver linings in all the grey going on!
Since there is snow on the forecast where I am, here is a warm, sunny series from The Desert Adventure! The wonderful portrait artist George Streng captured these in Moab in 2018.
A nude series from this day will be up tonight at $25+
Thank you for your support! Keep smiling!
