The other day, I promised more images from the silks series. Unfortunately, that particular series feature another model whose likeness I cannot publish, so I’ve decided to just do away with the idea of sharing them here, rather than do the injustice of cropping them.

Instead, I’m sharing these images taken in Joshua Tree by R. Yokomoto. This was a session we squeezed in between my work at Palm Springs Photo Fest in 2017.

By this time in my tour, I was extremely burned out, having driven thousands of miles and worked lots of long days. This was also after several days of shooting in the desert in 100 degree weather. I was tired, probably dehydrated, my feet were sore, and my skin was abraded. (The rocks in Joshua Tree are my favorite rocks to climb, but not to lie nude across!)

During this shoot, we were being mercilessly harassed by bees, so we had to navigate around that.

Despite all of that, look at these images! I’m amazed at what we are able to do even when we are depleted. After this shoot, I’m pretty sure I had three more full days of shooting!

Those of you who have shot with me on location know first hand how challenging working in the environment can be, and yet, here we are.
