You are 100% correct too. I did extensive reading and if we did switch to that pay up front method, it would actually disallow a lot of features. It seems to me right now it isn't worth it and to continue to take the risk of people taking and going. It should be easy to monitor who has been on a month and who hasn't, but Patreon doesn't exactly make it easy to see who had been on for how long. At this moment, I don't think we will change things.

Sadly Patreon doesn't have a system to automatically do that. We would just have to monitor who has been on for how long. Of course I know many of you by your names for how long you've been here. It's been lovely! :D

Happy August to you as well. Sorry to hear about the leeches. Such behavior is just mean-spirited. Selecting the games but delaying the distribution until the end of the month could be an approach. I look forward to seeing the PPA poster. I really enjoyed all of the current comics, especially the return of arachnophopic Twily :D. I also got the chance to pull up several comics from years ago in a discussion on the question of the chubbiest mane 6. My choice was Twilight

Really not a nice developement. How about making the rewards kick in at the following month ? So on the 1.8, everyone with processed payment can get a game ? I know EQD has it that way.

I think that the important question is how the pay-up-front system works these days. It would be silly to make that choice without understanding it, and once you do understand it you'll know whether that will add significant hassle for new patrons and evaluate whether it's worth that to prevent people from pledging and running. I would hope that the answer is "Yes, it's worth the possible minimal increase in hassle," but after Patreon tried to move everybody onto a pay-up-front system in a manner that seemed deliberately designed to funnel more money to credit card companies, I don't entirely trust them to do things in a sensible way.

Thank you for the feedback. I am not sure how the "pay up front" would work. I don't want it to scare existing people away. Especially if you just pay now, then I click the pay up front feature, and it somehow forces people to pay for another month ahead. I would hate to do that. If I wait till mid-month... it might be better. Hopefully we will get some more feedback. Maybe someone who has dealt with it before and can explain it better.

Pay up front definitely sounds proper, especially with your large rewards you offer. Sucks to hear scummy people are taking advantage of that.
