Hi :) Happy (almost) Autumn!

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to everyone who reached out to me the last few days. Fortunately, Hurricane Ida spared my neighborhood, and I'm doing just fine. I'm very grateful not to be living right on the water anymore. I appreciate the supportive messages I received. It's nice to know people care about me from an entirely human standpoint. XO.

For the first time in my 30 years, I am actually excited for the end of summer. As a journalist in a shore town that thrives on summer tourism, this summer was absolutely insane. This is because last fall I volunteered to edit and publish on Tuesdays. They could not find a summer replacement, so I continued to do that throughout the summer, while also managing a 3000-4000 word music column and usually another business feature every week. The column has been extremely fulfilling work, but I am tired!

So here is a little series some of you may have seen, and some of you haven't. These images were taken by Dan Leffel in Lake Powell, Utah seven years ago (Sept. 2014) during a photo retreat/workshop. I really enjoyed working with Dan and Inge Johnsson, who let me play in this area for a solid half hour, just working with posing around this pinnacle. I think some of my best work comes out of sessions like this, where the photographer communicates to me what the composition looks like, and turns me loose on an environment. I can explore my capabilities and interact with the features around me. That is how a composition comes to life.

Throughout this covid crisis, I've been unearthing a great deal of throwbacks. On one hand, because they're memorable and beautiful, and on another hand, because I haven't had the opportunity to shoot. A few patrons have asked me to start taking self portraits again. Last year I purchased my first home, and I'm still figuring out where things go. Finding a space with a clear wall that also has good light has been a challenge. However, as fall settles in and my writing grows to be more manageable, I'm going to start working out a space to create a series of self portraits.

Nearly all of my patrons have opted out of physical packages, so I am going to discontinue them. They are very time consuming to put together, especially if only a small handful of people who actually want them. I have not changed my tiers yet, because Patreon now makes me choose what I'm offering from a list, so they can decide how to tax content. (I'm grandfathered in from the original system). So I really want to nail down a solid, dependable offering for each tier so no one is over-taxed.

With that said, please let me know what you do and do not like, and what you would be interested in seeing offered in my tiers. What have you seen done by other artists that works well for you? Your feedback is what makes this whole machine run. Thanks in advance! XO
