Hi friends :-)
Anyone who followed my career as a traveling model knows that I spent some time in a Volkwagen Vanagon. Then I bought myself a Toyota Tacoma and retrofitted the back (with the help of my partner) and lived out of that for a few years. I traveled through some pretty amazing places all over the country in my little rolling home.
I paid the truck off early in 2020, and was excited to have a few years without a payment. Recently, I enjoyed having it to haul kayaks, or to haul landscaping materials to and from my new home.
Unfortunately, after a few years of living on a salt marsh, where I had to drive through several feet of ocean water a few times a month, my frame inevitably rusted through. Then my air conditioning died.
Due to the shortage of, well, everything, I could not get a new Tacoma within my budget. But I could afford a brand new RAV 4 (financed, of course). It's weird to be driving something so shiny and new. But, given that it's a hybrid, I think I'll feel ok about it the next time I have to put gas in it (probably two weeks from now!)
Anyway, saying goodbye to my trusty taco was a bitter sweet experience. That truck was my home through some strange times in my life. So I just wanted to share some of those moments from the road.
Hope all of you are happy and healthy on this lovely morning. XO.
