These lovely portraits, photographed by Scott Stillman in Minneapolis, resurfaced a few weeks ago, and I'm so glad they did.
Often, I'll see photos years later that I initially didn't like, and decide they are actually quite beautiful. That's the case here.
I was in the middle of a very long, exhausting tour during this session. I was depressed and jaded with this industry. It is evident here that I was overtired and feeling defeated.
The unique thing about these portraits, is that they are beautifully honest. There are very few photographers who can truly capture me-- out of character-- and tell the honest story in a beautiful way. Scott is one of those people, and he can do it even when I'm at my worst. I feel comfortable, safe and respected whenever we work together.
These portraits are a testament to that. They are also a testament to how much growth has happened in just a few years.
XO.
