I spent extra time in Virginia last month for Thanksgiving, because I knew I wouldn't have the opportunity to see my mother or siblings on Christmas, due to work. I've been busy writing, and I'm enjoying this work very much. The other night, I had the opportunity to interview Johnny Cash's grandson, who is also a musician.
I did get to spend Christmas Eve with my uncle, aunt, and two cousins. We spent the whole day in our pajamas, watching Christmas movies and enjoying good food.
Unfortunately, I came down with a nasty head cold, so I stayed home today. I spent all day bundled up on my sofa, drinking ginger tea and eating Christmas cookies. I know the sugar doesn't help my cold, but it helped my Christmas spirit. ;-)
At $5+ I have posted a full set of images by Ambient Shooter in Omaha with a poem I wrote on the road.
Being a local writer, it is an interesting reflection exercise to look back at photos and writings of my life when I was living full time on the road. I did a lot of living. I made so many photographs and wrote countless poems. Met a lot of people, saw a lot of scenes, heard a lot of music, ate a lot of food and learned a lot of lessons. With all those experiences, I'm happy to be in a place with more clarity and stability.
