Hi!
First of all, thank you to each and every patron who followed me into July.
You make a TREMENDOUS difference in my life, personally and creatively.
Second of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. I spent the day kayaking down Cedar Creek with my friends, as is my annual tradition. This year, everyone pitched in to help alleviate my responsibility in making everything happen. During a very stressful time in my life, it was incredible to enjoy my birthday without having to stress over the details and logistics and catering, as I tend to do. It was the best celebration I have had in several years.
For anyone wondering about my grandfather, things become more unpredictable each and every day, and that's the new normal. I have appreciated all of your sweet words, and that you have kept him in your thoughts.
Finally, I'm sure everyone has noticed by now that Patreon has really betrayed the fine art community (which is so bizarre to me, because we are the reason Patreon thrives). I'm seeing so many important members of the community suspended (most recently, Photosensualis) and it makes me wonder how stable this platform is.
However, this is also affirming for me. I am happy that I followed my instinct in the very beginning. I always have loathed this website and how it does not cater to the practical or artistic needs of its creators, so I have been maintaining my aesthetic via private Tumblr accounts. So, if you ever decide that you are done with Patreon, (or they decide they're done with me first) but still want to support my work, see the blog, and receive patron packages, we can figure out an alternative payment method, by which you still see all the work, without the censorship of an arbitrary board of imbeciles.
But for now, I suppose it'll do (until they read the previous sentence).
In that case, up on Tumblr are exclusive first looks at my shoot with Eva & Photosensualis, in Woodstock.
Enjoy!
