TUMBLR.

Up on Tumblr today is a stream of consciousness poem; It is a reflective construction of my experiences during my most recent tour. Often, when provocative thoughts come to my mind, I write them down. When it feels right, I tease out the concept (which often makes itself an apparent mood/theme in my writing). I sew the thoughts together, elaborate, and refine. This poem is pretty much straight from my mind to my keyboard. I'm not used to presenting work this way, so this is a new mode of expression. If you scroll through Tumblr, or if you were with me in any capacity during April, you might be able to connect some verses to their experiences. However, much of it will be a mystery, and that's exactly how I like it.

Just a taste;

" We must wait

For the cover of dusk

To sneak into

Fervid waters

And soak our screaming skin

Drawing

Our feminine boundary

In foam

The boundary runs deeper

Than the bleeding lacerations

That trace a grid along our flesh

Like a topographic map

We lie, votive, into rock depressions

While Artemis keeps

A vigilant eye.

You can drive a man to the water

But you can't save his camera

From the desert floor

Once the lunacy sets in

Mama nature

Didn't sign no

Model release

And she is ruthless

In her own court.

Desert river

Is an illusory snake

Its cool, smooth licks

Are a lie

I am lying with a thousand leeches

Thirsty-mouthed creatures

And it almost doesn't bother me.

/I'm thirsty, too."
